I'm just starting my custom Secondary Control Room and just for fun I thought I'd try and replicate the Season 14 style wall panels so if anyone has any data on these I'd like to see it and if not I'll keep you up to date with anything I uncover.

I would start with this threat: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=1027.0. Pages 2 and 3 have some great details of the stained glass roundels that were in some of the walls and the door to the corridor.

Then there is this thread which deals with the shape of the later roundels (Season 14 onwards): http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=2009.0

For a good image of a Season Season 14 roundel that had been recycled (that is, repainted with other surviving wall panels) and used in later stories, there is this thread: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=2387.0. Scroll down about five or so posts and you'll see an image of Romana II in the corridor about to enter the console room. There are some good details of the recycled roundels on the corridor wall.

And if you want some really heavy discussion on the detailing of the roundels, keep something potent nearby (like rum) and then visit this thread: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=1032.15.

At every glance the wooden roundels seem to share all of the details of the lighted roundels (and the unlighted white/grey roundels, such as the one Turlough opens in "Terminus", and seen in those pics with Romana in the corridor). So, of you've got a lathe, you can cut yourself out an initial pattern, and then use that as a master tool guide for tooling as many roundels as you need. Or just tool one for a pattern and then vacuform the others and paint them to look like wood.

Hopefully that will get you started.

Without doing any serious research aside from looking at the pictures I've modified my standard wall panels into a three across four down grid. To match the height and width of the standard panels I've increased the spacing between the roundels slightly to 4 inches and the space between the roundels and the edge of the panel is the same distance. This gives a panel 8'2" high and 6'2.5" wide with an estimated skirting board height of 10.75", this would probably be a good time to check the studio floorplans.

The panel on the left of the door seems pretty well aligned with the grid and gives us six foot and change, works for me.

Can anyone make sense of the annotations?

The only other 'annotations' I understand are the camera assignments which I'm pretty sure what the 1A, 2A, 3A and so on.

Isn't this the floor plan for "The Talons of Weng-Chiang"? It looks like the one on on the DVD. I think the floor-plan for how the sets fit the stage and there is basically camera blocking for shooting the opening scene where the Doctor explains how the TARDIS is bigger on the inside with the little boxes and then before he exits he delivers one of my favorite lines "I never carry weapons. If people see you mean them no harm they never hurt you. Nine times out of ten."

This was the floor plan from "Robots Of Death", taken from the DVD extras. I don't have the "Talons" DVD yet, but I've got "Robots Of".

The scene you're describing is also from robots, the Tardis interior did not appear in talons.

I'm an idiot.  Can anyone tell me what the  + 150, +500 + 450 +600 etc measurements mean?  Is that elevation of the floor in millimeters,  or distance? or something else entirely?  They were still suing inches and Feet in England back in the 70's before they went metric, yes?

Rassilons Rod

Elevation, yep. Should be in mm.

Excellent images, Nate! This may be the one time we get a good look at the stained glass roundels on the left side of the view screen! (I know one is partly obscured by the boat rack, but we should be able figure out which pattern is on it from what we can see, especially if we lighten the image a little.)

Thanks for sharing these!
