So some of you may have been looking at my TARDIS walls of extruded styrene Insulation experiment thread.

Well wouldn't you know I found inexpensive wood........

So Chipboard / floor underlayment 48" x 96" was $11.50 each.

So I used my styrene boards as stencils and transfered the pattern to wood. (8 boards - haven't cut the round things out yet.)

Then I took 6 (48" x 96") wood boards and cut them lengthwise to make 12 (24" x 96") boards. Then I cut 6 of the 12 (24" x 96") in half lengthwise. Making 12 (12" x 96")

I'm going to make Six of the Five Doctors columns.
Well I'm fiddling with the proper measurements to make the most use of the wood I have. Yeah I know...... Sacrilege....... I'm just going to cut a few corners, and tighten my belt. I kind of want to watch the 60th Anniversary in the TARDIS.

350mm = 13.8 inches
430mm = 17 inches
600mm = 23.6 inches
836mm = 32.91 inches
900mm = 35.4 inches
1500mm = 59 inches
1600mm = 63 inches
1800mm = 71 inches
2320mm = 91.33 inches
2400mm = 94.5 inches
3000mm = 118 inches
3100mm = 122 inches
8010mm = 315.3543 inches

A path! A path!


Last two days have been cold and snowy .... But we are above freezing now, but when I look out the window I don't see it.

But there should be some serious melting going on today, so I may be able to make some progress.

And ten seconds later it fell and broke.

So I started making better ones.



From the prototype I was able to get the measurements for wood braces that extend the back widths of the face boards.

An update.


Having trouble with the servers - I was going to have all these pictures culminating in a mini stone circle. But the servers keep getting dementia after I load my pics.

It was raining today and I still wanted to make some progress. It is not as easy to build from inside the shed. In my day infinite storage was larger.








4 complete columns and an additional 2 in various stages of assembly.

but once again having trouble uploading photographs ......

So I have 5 columns, and I will have to buy more wood if I want a sixth.

I can live with that for now.

I was trying to make a jig to cut holes....

Turns out I was over-engineering.... Decided on using a jigsaw cutter.

Today's advice...... If you're getting tired..... Time for a break.

Started to cut the fourth (of eight) roundeled panels.

I am.

I was just greedy for a glamour shot pre visualisation of what it would look like.
 I didn't have any stage weights on that particular column - I was in the process.....
 I will also add a crown to each of the Collums. There will be a frame for each of the walls

...... Also my driveway isn't really level 🤣.

Well back at it.


Taking a few days for my tendonitis and other minor aches and pains to heal up.

The posts are unwieldy for a person to move by themselves. I was powered by enthusiasm.

Oh wow!!! What a find!

and there's me thinking I'd have to do what Alan did for his Whoseum and sculpt it myself. I'm sure you could get some silicon onto that foot for me ;-)
