Hi Everyone, you may remember me for my NST that I created a couple of years ago. Well the weather is getting the better of her now and I am going to dismantle her and "dematerialise" her into a new 2010 model. I do however need some help with the lamp as I see it is one of the most obvious changes. Can anyone help with reference material? Thanks Rizla

Some good pictures of it have shown up here courtesy of PMC: [ref topic=1561]New TARDIS and Doctor[/ref].

It seems, at least from a post on PurpleBlancmange's blog, that the actual lamp used on the new NST has been discontinued, which unfortunately seems to always be the way.  So the best anyone can hope for unless they already have one is something that closely resembles it, this may account for why the screen prop's lamp varies slightly from the one in the pic on this thread, which is not the actual screen prop.

Yeah, the one used in the pic referenced is actually from a promotional prop, not a TV Prop.  That lamp is very similar and would work as a decent substitute.

Basically from reading Purple's blog... there are two lanterns: 1) TV prop, the anchor lamp and 2) Promotional NST, which is the New Haven lantern. With Purple's consent, for more information check out Purple's blog: http://purpleblancmange.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/lets-shed-some-light-on-the-issue/#comment-197

Hi everyone,

I have found a website that still has the 'anchor oil lamp' that is used on the 2010 NST.  I don't know how many they have, but given they have been discontinued elsewhere, it would stand to reason they maybe discontinued here as well.  I hope this find help those of you looking for authentic parts for a 2010 NST.

Damn I would love one of those but not at that price.
They will match any lower price though it says.... anyone seen one for $19.99? lol

Ah wait, that one is actually "slightly" different now that I look at a bigger picture of it... bugger...

I have stumbled across a couple more, but for most of them the price for them is more in the realm of $350 +

How about these...

First lamp here is exactly right

I see there are different heights. 14 or 19"?

mordrogyn

I believe 14" is the correct height (before it gets cut down)

Ok, I bought a 14" one. We'll see how it looks on arrival. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

The link I posted earlier, the item is out of stock....

Here's the alternative, same dims, but you have to chose oil or electric... It's a little cheaper too.

The more I think about it, the less I really want to spend all that money on  a lantern and cut it down to achieve the look of my lamp.  I'm have considering seeing if any of my friends have a router so I can cut some disks of wood and make a mock top and bottom for it held together with some doweling and get one of the fresnels from the other thread here to complete it.
