Got all the panels on and primed them jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195245~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195258~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195308~2.png

We made a prototype window for one frame and it kind of looks cool. And also we are not building it quite like how you are supposed to. So instead of the corner posts on the base first and then walls, we are doing it backwards but my grandpa says it will work so. And we for some reason went without much of a plan other than just "Ahh well just copy it"jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195339~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195317~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195329~2.png

We also routered the panels all in one go to get that smooth kind of look on the square parts and we put the panels together with a kreg jig.

New base because the past was a bit to small and the phone box door part was cut out. We put the doors in the doorway but they aren't on hinges yet.jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195408~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195604~2.pngjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195611~2.png

More progress. And experimental police signs. jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195935~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195840~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200016~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200025~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200233~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200228~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-195949~2.jpeg

Here is the phone and phone box so far! We found the phone at an antique store.jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200341~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200337~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200347~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200358~2.jpeg

I really get a kick from vintage phones with "Bakelite" shells.  It looks like one could club a Macra with that thing!

Primed inner phone box and test top piece jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200505~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200509~2.jpeg

Probably will use this for the top light. We found it at Home Depot. jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200527~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200533~2.jpeg

For the roof we went with a design inspired
by the one that bren Carter or brenk9carter did. I didn't want to plagiarize but we give full credit to bren for that design.jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200612~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200626~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200620~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200637~2.jpeg

I hesitate to offer unsolicited advice, but if that's the lamp I think it is, you may eventually decide it is too small*.  If you do, Vermont Lanterns** has affordable lantern chimneys in a number of sizes that have the look of a Fresnel lens.  They don't have the thick magnification, but they're a lot more affordable and available.  https://www.vermontlanterns.com/content/anchor-lamp-chimney-12  Getting the sizing right can be a bit tricky because the width listed is not the maximum width, it's the width at the ends.

*Of course if you're happy with the way it looks, then no worries.  Also, being unhappy with the signal lamp is on par with being unhappy with the shade of blue in "if you're going to have a problem..." problems, because it is a lot easier to replace than, say, not being happy with the dimensions of the panels or deciding the corner posts are too thin or something.

**I have no affiliation with Vermont Lanterns, but I found them and were very happy with their product.
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

More roof progress and experimental light. And we made a mistake (again) we made the roof only one layer instead of two.

Like thisjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200642~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200648~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200703~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200708~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200710~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200713~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200717~2.jpeg

We fixed the one layer roof problem and here's how it looks! jpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200737~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200740~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200749~2.jpegjpeg-optimizer_Screenshot_20230730-200745~2.jpeg
