2008 series 4 foldable tardis

So little sneak peak. I'm quitte advance in one of the 2 tardis so far, my plan is to make the second one right now, and to get it to where i'm currently with the one i allready have. Fully built but unpainted or maybe with a first layer of flat blue and no lamps or windows yet.
My goal is to choose the "better looking" of the 2 to make the series 4 prop and the more ruff one would be the war doctor's tardis. I'll probably start posting about the current one this week-end. I haven't much photos of the making procès tho. My apologie in advance.

So for the first pick preview, here is what i'm seeing going to sleep to night

So, here is the progress chronologie :

I've started by cutting thé polls for both of the boxes. They where not thick enought so i had to had 3mm balsa on the side and carved them to include tha flat rectangular notch thingy. I also cuted the side pannel base.



Then i started working on a base

Made à first side panel to test fit

And then went on from there buildi on


Then i've started making thé roof

Up next is paneling and structuration thé roof

Next i'm carving grooves on the polls building the sign boxes and with little bits that would slot in.

Next is finishing up the side panels, putting hinges on the doors and spliting them apart... Etc

There is still à few détails to work on but it' basicly readdy for paint. Wich will happen, when the second box it at the same state

Thanks for the clarification, I had assumed that if "laisser tomber" meant fall that tomber must be to drop.

But I haven't studied any french for about 32 years

So far i've advance thé base quite far until i noticed it was badly warped. I suspect the wood got wet at some point, but i wonder if i can make anything about it. I've tried to put some renforcement inside bit so far, no luck. It's not as bad but noot good either. So for now, i'm moving forward and if licking thé panel pièces in place doesn't fix it. I'll remake one.



If you have any idéas on how to fix that up i'm all for it.

oh no! i messed up! i need more pictures of the sides. i don't have much angles where you can see this detail much. And with compression paterns, it made it look like the center piece was like the doors

Update on the 2nd Cprop.
I've remade the base, it's now sitting flat as it should. I've started working on the side panels,taking care in making them thz right way this time.

Little update again.
First of, i've finished the base mostly. I'll have a bit of tiding up to do with sanding and filling holes and stuff but most of the work is done including the bevel.

I moved on to making the roof, i've made it slightly diffrently then my first atrempt. It snaps in place and fits à bit better.

Right now i'm doing sign boxes. Then i'll finish the pannel, put the pyramide shaped tiles on the roof etc until they are both at the same level of compilation.
