Door sign (phone door) hardware and designs

After happily reading the topic on how the verious TARDIS designs have changed over the years (http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=1151), it now begs the question on if there's been detailed discussion on how the door sign has changed - and not simply that it was black between 1966 and 2005 and otherwise has been white?  Has the wording actually changed or the layout of that wording?

Finally, though related but not precisely the same, how has the hardware on the door changed among the eight different designs we've seen?

If this has been discussed before, could someone please point me to the topics?

I don't think we have a topic for the hardware changes on the door signs. Perhaps this could be the start of one.

Fantastic!  Thanks, Crispin.  And, you're right.  The hardware appears to have changed, as well as the way that the sign is attached to the door.  Sometimes it appears to be a metal sign screwed onto the panel, while on other models it appears to be recessed and have a small frame around it.  More importantly, the designs appear to have various pulls and handles (and maybe one had none whatsoever).
