Longbridge Road Box

I was just browsing through a book full of old photos of my home town, looked at it several times, when I suddenly noticed something in the corner of the picture.

My scanner isn't working so took a photo of only part of the picture.

What a great picture, thanks for sharing. Looks to be quite a light colour blue. Is there a date for the photo?

Have you been over to the place in question, found the spot it used to stand and wish it was still there? (or is that just me?)

Sorry forgot the date, it was taken in the 1930's.

The trees are gone and it's a crossing there now. Aside from that the area in the photos doesn't look that much different. There are shops to the left.

Is there a tell tale GPO manhole cover where it used to stand?

Do we think this is further evidence of mk 1's being brought up to mk2 spec in the 30's as far as I can tell the mk1's had proper leading in the windows (Barnet) and the mk 2's had steel between the glass (Crich).
