I've had the plastic bits for years, parts of a puzzle from a Christmas cracker and have always had the idea that they could be turned into a TARDIS key. Yesterday, while under the influence of the brainworms that come with sleep deprivation, I decided to have at it.

Angelus Lupus

Nice! Looks like it could come straight from an 80's episode!  ;D

I like it, and I like the use of the staples ;)

Thanks. I think the staples work and they were just the right size.

I like it, it has that Quantum Leap gummi-bear Handlink vibe to it.

I was just about to ask what you used for the striped metal parts - I never would have guessed they were staples! Genius!

As always you've knocked it out of the park, very 80s (I could definitely imagine Colin Baker's Doctor using this to open his TARDIS.) :)

Thank you.

I've often wondered about making one that incorporates as a crystal as the shaft of the key and the have a made to measure, 3D printed top but I've not come across the right crystal yet.

I'm surprised no one has questioned my brainworms, they must be more common than I thought lol.

Another notion... I think I prefer this one.

Very nice!! I love the spiral effect down the "shaft" of the key. How did you make this design?

Actually, I think they're both quite nice. And it never hurts to have more than one kind of TARDIS key. (You never know when you might run into a TARDIS with a double-curtain trimonic barrier, and not know what sort of cypher indent key you'll need to unlock it and get in. ;) :D)

LED pendant from a nightclub but I rounded off the end and frosted it by hand to give it a more crystalline look.

An alternate design using a faux crystal point. Which do you prefer? The hole did come out off-centre but I'm working on it.

That's a tough one, they both look so good! If I had to choose, I guess I'd pick your second design - the unevenness of the crystal lends a nice "homemade" look, like something that the Doctor cobbler together.

I wonder how this would look with a couple of wires attached to sort of blend the technology of the key with the organic crystal? Then again, it's up to you. Nice design either way. :)

Thanks for that, 2 votes for crystal (including me boss).
