Hello everybody,
And welcome to another build diary on this platform. As you have heard from me and now read in the title, It is the police public call box build in 1: 1 scale and made of cardboard. Certainly not the best choice of material, but the only one I can use. I really wanted to build it out of wood, but my parents said no. That's how I use cardboard. The material that I can handle best. Greetings to the 14th Doctor: D.

OK guys, let's go to the build. I have already built a police call box in 1:10 scale made of  cardboard. You will also find it on this platform. Now I build it in full size. And I'll say, "Who came up with this stupid idea?" (Sorry for not wisely wording) This project eats cardboard for breakfast. Lol. In addition, some blueprints from the internet and pictures from the Youtuber CaptainJimiPie and the Tardisbuilder Kitkat were used. Again, this is a custom TARDIS.

Novembet 11/12 2017
I started to cut a cardboard box into the same slices over and over again. A very boring process. In the following I started assembleling the base.

November 22/24/25/26 2017
Well, I decide to go to the roof of the box. Again, cut a cardboard box into the same slices. Then some smaller ones and again some bigger ones. After attaching in the right place it looked like this.

I went to the "main pillars". The four who give it a box look. What a terrible job.

And finally the triangular roof tiles.

I have never used so much cardboard on six days. Impressive. Lol. I think I need something to get new cardboard boxes for the build. But for now it's not needed.

But for the moment ......
......Have a great day.

bye

very impressed in your cardboard skills,   its going to be fun to watch the progress.
I want notes, lists and answers by the time I finish this here Juicy-a-Box! WARNING: I am Thirst-ay! And it is Fruit Punch! And it is Delicious!"

Hi karsthotep
Thanks for your comment. Thank you for being impressed with my cardboard skills. If you want to see more, check out my profile or the 14th Doctor. Very nice that you are looking forward to progress.

You are making fantastic progress.
I've always wanted to see someone attempt a cardboard TARDIS, so I can't wait to see this one come together... Good luck!

The only potential problem I can see is that structurally it might collapse under it's own weight... so you will need to make sure the walls are nice & thick & strong.

Ps:  Loving the Dalek I saw lurking in some of the pics, too... Some more info on that would be nice... How about starting a thread in the "Other build diaries?"

Regards,

Russell

If manuel is going by the plans he's got posted above (which are here in larger sizes: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=4234.0 ; just open the images in a new tab or window to see them full size), then he's going for an early Series 1 TARDIS as those are the plans for the first prop, which is the one with the panels that looked way too square. They're official BBC plans, though, and were on display at the DWE for a while (from around 2011 or so until it closed down, I think).

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think just the early episodes of the Eccleston run used this box. Most of his episodes used a box that's more in line with the plans that Bill "the Doctor" Rudloff (DoctorWho8) has drawn up which show the box as it appeared in the later Series 1 through Series 4 episodes. (There's a link to Bill's plans in the http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=6011.0 post. They can't post on the Forum because they're a PDF, but they are a free download.)

Hello you here,
In order not to write each one individually and thus spamming the comments, I summarize everything in this comment.

Hey russellsuthern
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad to hear that you've been waiting for someone to make a cardboard tardis. All I can say is that somebody, sometime and somewhere, has to do this first.
I also recognized her problem. However, I think that I can use my experiences and the tips of others very well. If you have any further tips, please include this in the comments.
Now to the Dalek. Let's see if I make a build for the Dalek. Unfortunately, I did not take so many pictures during the construction process that I could show you and you. Let's see...

Hey Bob's your Uncle
Thank you for your wonderful compliment.

Hey brenk9carter
Thanks for your comment. Thank you for your compliment. I hope you like what's coming.

Hey boxman550
Thanks for the comment. My Tardis is completely custom. It is based on all the Tardises that you can see in the TV series (classic and new). Likewise, this is based on concept art, which one finds in a search engine of his choice on the Internet (we do not want to make advertising here: D). galacticprobe has already summarized this well for me.

Hey galacticprobe
Thank you very much for the comment. Thank you for answering as a specialist for me already.

Then I thank you all again for reading this commentary. I hope it will be followed by more comments from you. Greetings to you.

Not to worry, Manuel. Many of our members reply to multiple members in the same post, just like you did here. Many find it easier that way because they don't have to start a new post each time.

Individual posted replies aren't considered "spamming" because they are replies. (Spamming would be posting comments that have nothing whatsoever to do with what goes on... like rambling about the best bathtubs and posting links where you can buy them - or posting worse things. That's "spamming", and believe me, the Mods will crush that without a second thought.)

So you can reply however is most comfortable to you, and do it without worry.

Hey galacticprobe,
thanks for that comment. I learned something again. Tips and tricks such as yours, help me in dealing with this forum.
Up soon....

I should have made mine out of cardboard, it would be so much lighter weight! Looking forward to seeing your progress!
It's always a matter of time...

russellsuthern

Hi Manuel,

I respond to multiple comments exactly the same way you do.
I just put the name of person I'm addressing followed by the reply & I list them all in one post.
As Dino says, it's a lot simpler & easier.

Keep up the good work!!

Russell

Full scale in cardboard is certainly impressive! I imagine it's also a great practise if you ever decide to build a wooded one!

Hi mobius
Thanks for your comment. I can tell you from my own experience that it is much harder to build a cardboard Tardis. You have to be hell-bent, that the ruler does not slip and you cut yourself with a cutter. That's the only thing I would say against your statement. I look forward to another comment from you.

Hi russellsuthern
Thanks for your comment. I will definitely go on like this. It only takes forever for me to make a piece of cardboard instead of wood

Hi Anhelus Lupus
Thanks for your comment. I am very pleased to hear that you are impressed. It's true that this cardboard Tardis is an exercise. Because as I said, one day I will build you out of wood.

Greetings to you
Manuel
