Perhaps the Series 9/10 version of the Capaldi Interior reference the Wheel In Space roundel.

I think you're on the right track, TigerMan, but the real close reference comes in the Christmas Special "The Husbands Of River Song", when River opens one of the roundels on the lower level (mid-level?) to reveal a mini-bar! (Typical River. :))

I wonder where the funnel was slotted into on the console. Not seen the episode in years so I forgot it was just a funnel on the console, I had the mercury refill being done on the box that's on the console. I assume, in my head its some test device for the fluid links, akin to a fuse or circuit tester.

Looks like a little screen readout.
