I can probably make one if there isn't...

Given the sterling job Mr White has done for me with the main meters and other graphics for the Pertwee version of the Sharp Console, we can rely on Steve to rise to this particular 'challenge'!  :)

You can also take a look at Neal's (deck5) post here: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=306.msg34592#msg34592. He's got a link to a PDF of a TY-J Phone Panel sign. I'm not sure which version of the TY-J sign this is, but hopefully it will be of some help to you.

Sorry to bother Tony, do you have a signshop-ready PDF of this PTO door sign?

Funnily enough I was planning on using this image as a decal when I get around to making my TJY model next year.

I've adjusted the picture to make it 1:1 scale and I figured people aren't going to want the border, so I (quite roughly) painted it out. I imagine people are going to fit their own border over the top, so the additional detail is unlikely to be seen.

I've saved the image as a pdf and a png, do if Deck5/Scarfwearer wants to host them I'll get them uploaded...

Angelus Lupus

If it's of any use to anyone; a while back I messed around with that image to clean it up, remove the (woodworm?) holes and try and get it to look like it might have before it faded.

Thanks everyone! I need to give a cost estimate soon.

Quick question or two...

Central door dividing strip on the TYJ(s).  Projects forward from the doors by how much?  10mm or 12mm or something else?  Whatever it is, it's presumably matched by the plane of the first/lowest of the steps above the doors.  Does that lowest step sit forward of the first vertical edge of the corner posts either side, or does it (as Tony's plans suggest) split 50/50, with half sitting forward.  I'm not certain the photos bear it out.  The three steps do look a bit irregular in depth though.

And also, does any of the above make sense? :)

Tony's plans are usually researched eight ways to Sunday before he posts anything, so I would be inclined to go with what his drawings say. Also as for 'photos bearing it out', you have to consider which version of the TY-J you're looking at. Is it the TY-J 1? The TY-J 2? Or could it be the Newbery that was redressed to look like the TY-J (because the TY-J 1 and redressed Newbery were used interchangeably from 1980 until the 1985 hiatus, and all three were used interchangeably from 1986 until the final story in 1989)?

Depending on which TARDIS you're looking at to see whether the photos if it bear out Tony's drawings and research, you have to remember that each of the three versions mentioned above will have inconsistencies with each other, and not all three will match Tony's drawings (which, unless I'm wrong, are mainly focused on the TY-J 1, with the differences in the TY-J 2, and the redressed Newbery mentioned, but not drawn out in full).

I'm open to corrections on any of the above that I've gotten wrong. (I'd have to thoroughly read Tony's Article again, rather than just skimming over it to pose one possible answer to this question. So, Tony, I'm waiting for that Roger Delgado voice to echo in my head again if I've misinterpreted anything. ;) :))

I hope some of this helps.

Agreed.  There's a lot of variation.  Which thankfully allows we builders a fair bit of latitude...

Are you ready Dino? In my best Roger Delgado voice: I'm afraid I have to slightly disagree, the redressed Newbery Box appeared in Logopolis, Castrovalva and Black Orchid only. The two TY-J boxes were used interchangeably from Trial of a Time Lord onwards with the second TY-J box having made its debut in "The Planet of Fire"!

Again, if I may Dino, I have to slightly correct you; I have drawn plans for both TY-J boxes and also for the principal modifications to each of them. I've also drawn-up (and posted) plans for the Newbery Box but - as I stated when these were posted - these are a work in progress and may need tweaking as and when Slava (dw_1200) and I have time to work together on wire-frame photogrammetric representations of the plans.

Corrections noted, Tony! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction once again. (At least this time it was only "slightly disagree" and "slightly correct"... so I'm getting better. :))

Dare I ask, are there measurements for the T Y-J Mk1 lamp?      I've only found measurements for original Police Box lamps, and they seem to be bigger than the TYJ one looks?

Volpone

Hopefully someone will come along with a better answer, but off the top of my head I want to say the glass was 5-5.5" tall with everything proportional to that.  Alternately, you can poke around the reference section and probably find it.  It isn't organized in the most intuitive way, but the info's probably in there.  Somewhere.  If I get some time I'll see if I can find it.

I would PM Mverta as he had his TYJ fresnel custom made.  He should be able to share that information with you.
