hello!  i'm just starting a new thread for my new project. :)  i'll try to keep pics coming as some sort of progress is made, it may be a few days inbetween since it can be hard to find quality time these days.  i'm hoping this build won't take as long as the last, but he shall have to see...  anyway, here's a pic or two of the progress so far, which is... not much.  but atleast you can see how the piston works :P

just a small update, i added the wedged columns for the plinth. unfortunately in doing so, i realized that the motor i'm using may end up being too big...  i knew it was bigger then the one i used in the KtT console, but i didn't realize how much bigger.

Yep!  Same basic piston I made for my last cinsole.  Good old Lego, it just fits perfectly!

Amazing what legos can work for!

Wow, so THAT's where I left you!  Well then, suppose it's time to pick up where I left off... 6 years ago...  Sorry it's been so ridiculously long!  Life kinda did a life type thing, several times over.  Anyway, I've made a commitment to continuing on with this build, so it's onward and upwards!

This time around I'm doing a video diary.  I hope that's alright, please let me know if not and I'll switch formats back to pictures.  It's just easier for me to remember to capture something if I don't need to remember to capture it!  :D  They should be fairly detailed, and this way you get to watch, first hand, all of the processes I use in the making, including all the horrible failures  :P

Fair warning, these won't be short videos...  This first one's 1hr n 20 mins long!  If that doesn't send you running away, I'd love to know what you think!!!

Not bad, but not many people can sit for that long (due to life, the universe, lower back injuries, etc.). Maybe you could post more videos, but make them between 10 and 15 minutes long - sort of break it up into "chapters", if you will. (I've seen other builders on YouTube do that - mostly because their followers asked them to post shorter videos. It also makes it easier on the viewer by not having them stop for some reason, and then go back to it and say "Now... where did I leave off the last time I started watching this?")

Just a suggestion, but the video is a good idea. Also, it would be a good idea for you to post a few photos so we have them in the event YouTube ever goes down, or you decide to cancel your YouTube account (because of that thing called "life" that likes to throw curve balls at us all the time). If your YouTube does go away for some reason we'll lose all videos, but we'll at least have some of your photos to cherish, like we cherish the ones you've already posted.

Agreed.  While I enjoy sitting down to long build videos, I'm sure there are many that would rather a quick sneak peek.  Plus there's the fact that an hr/20 video took around 16 hrs to upload (thanks internet)..  So mayhap I'll do both.  I'll go back asap and split that vid into several smaller chunks, and leave the complete edition for those who would like one long shot.  And I'll do my best to switch the settings to photo once n a while! ;)

Glad to see you're back on with this build. I really liked your Baker console model and always wondered if you'd continue with this one at some point.

Another vote here for some photos as well as the YouTube updates
