Missy's Bracelet - Series 8

I'll be making two of these: one for myself and one to give as a gift to my friend as a gift to his other friend.

I began by sketching out a template for the cross-section of the bracelet by tracing around the concept art in the http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=7724 reference topic.
I then made 4 copies of the bracelet and cut out two strips of card that taper towards either end.



Last of all for today, I assembled the framework of the bracelets using hot glue and tape.



Hopefully tomorrow I'll finish all the bodywork and get these completed sometime soon.

To give the bracelets a more realistic weight, and to make them a solid shape like the original prop, I filled each one with modelling clay. Once this sets fully (which may take a few days), I'll sand the bracelets down and move onto painting them before adding the finishing touches and other details.

The aluminium tubing for my sonic screwdriver builds hasn't arrived yet, so while I plucked up the courage to start hacking away at my umbrella (

) I decided to work on Missy's bracelet some more.

I picked up right where I left off and sanded down the clay so that the bracelets were flat on all edges. I then painted both bracelets a really dark, metallic silver (although it looks more black in this photo )

Following a brief regenerative crisis, I got round to finishing Missy's bracelet. The circles are just cardboard painted black and hot glued into place.




From what I can see, the original prop was weathered ever so slightly, but I'm still in two minds as to whether or not I should do this on mine, so for now I'll count it as finished.
