Oooh, nice mix of styles! The pink of the later columns makes a nice addition to the square flag thingies. I like it!

Those are in fact from the stands to some Star Trek model ships made by Furuta. As I say, when I get pain next week I'm going to get 3 rods the colour of the rotor I already have so hopefully it will still fit with the rest of the console. I'll have to see how it looks once it's all together properly before I decide if it needs anything else.

I have to agree with Angelus on this. I could see this as being the next stage in the column's innards after "Inferno" and before the innards went to the simple red/pink tubes came along. (No offence intended, Tony and Steve; your green-tubed multicolored columns are beautiful and if I had the ability and funds I'd build one for an end table lamp, but just going by the color scheme, this one with the mix of green, pink/red, silver, and white seems like a smoother flow from the clear, silver, black and white to the multicolor to the mostly red of the Season 15-20 column.)

Great job, CH!

The lighting is awful but I couldn't wait for tomorrow to post pics now the coloured rods have been added.

Nothing wrong with that lighting, CH. It just gives us another perspective on what your console would look like in a low-power mode console room. So, tomorrow, with better lighting, your photos will show us the console with a full-power mode console room. It works, and your console is beautiful no matter how you look at her.

(And as we always say: we love photos! So there can never be too many photos of someone's proud build!)

Love it here's mine still work in progress IMG_0521.JPG

Thank you both.

I was tempted to make a rotor true to the one on screen in the 60's but as I said earlier the expense worried me as did the skill level required. The only bits bought were the coloured rods, the rest was foraged. I'm looking forward to seeing yours completed Mr. Trousers, it's looking very good so far.

Wow!!

I leave the forum for a month or two, and I come back to fantastic work such as this. :o

Loving the new time rotor, Cardinal! The coloured rods and flags makes for a nice modernisation of the classic Hartnell time rotor. A job well done!

Kind regards, The14thDr :D

Another dismal day for photography but I've finished the rotor.

Dismal days aside, the time rotor looks fantastic! It really ties up the classic-Era vibe you have going on here.
I also love how your console combines various aspects from throughout the show's history, whilst still maintaining the flair and originality of a custom build. Truly inspired!

Kind regards, The14thDr :D

Thanks, it is a bit of a mash-up but I'm glad to know it goes together and it's not just that I think it works.

I have to agree with 14th on this one (everything, basically; just didn't think I needed to use the full quote). And on those dismal photo days, well, just bring a lamp a bit closer to the console (or vice-versa, depending on which is easier to handle), and try a few snaps with the lamp, shifting things around a bit until you get the lighting you like.

As it is, the photos you're posting look great already, but if you're not happy with them, just know that we are!

Well the pics are only really meant to show you the console and the new rotor, I wasn't going for anything arty, I think they've served their purpose.

A much needed improvement to this panel.
