According to some newspaper reports, there will not only be a new tardis interior for Series 5 but the exterior will be getting a revamp too. They're keeping the police box but I wonder if it means that at long last we will be getting a more accurate and (hopefully) concrete looking new prop.  8-)

Thing is if the TARDIS has been "reset" then the exterior would look new - yes?

I quite like this prop. Although it's a bit different from the previous one, the longer shots almost look quite beautiful. I've always liked the idea of the TARDIS looking completely out of place.
It reminds me somewhat of the closing shot in "An Unearthly Child".

Out of Purple's "doctored" pictures, I like the Police-box-i-ness (is that a word?) of the bottom right one! Marvellous stuff!

I've just had a little play with the picures myself and in all honesty they could probably get away with just putting a new roof on it:

agreed it looks a lot better with that extra stack on the roof. definitely  less "toy" looking. kinda reminds me of kb's  tardis

Emil my friend, I shall take that as a compliment.
As the topic here, I'm still mulling it over, and will report back later

I have really warmed to the MattMoff TARDIS. I love the fact it has white windows and the St John badge (I can hardly believe that) and a real Fresnel! (even though the housing is a bit of a bodge).
It does look better with a higher roof in Purps reworking but it is still a great step forward for me.
Although the thing is, if I was going to build a NST I would still build Tennant's NST because of how I feel about how fantastic DT has been as the 10th Doctor.

So what do you think about the St John badge, the fact they've chosen a current one?

Hi TG!

I hadn't even noticed it was a current St.Johns badge - if it is then I think the prop guys haven't really done their homework very well (but then again, only us lot on the Tardis forums will end up noticing  ;) )

You must be happy to have a build of your own with a 'MattMoff'™ colour scheme etc!  :D

I think you're right to go with your feeling on the 10th Doctor's Tardis - but who knows, if Matt Smith turns out a blinder then we might all be scrambling for a "Mattmoff"™. I hope so!  ;D

cheers
Chris

PS: after the recent debate over whether the thing should be called the NST MKIII, or MK2 Refurb, or MK3a or NST2009, MK3-ncc1701a etc - and we end up with 'MattMoff', LOL!  :P

Matt smiths tardis looks very good. Its not perfect but its nice to see the tardis looking a little more closer to a real police box and hartnells tardis.

I think the Doctor must have been overindulging the old girl a bit

Hi All,

OK this may be considered a bit spoiler-ish for those wanting to wait, but...

There's a few shots on the "Blogtor Who" website of the new backlit images used in the new police box prop.

It doesn't really show too much, but you can see a few of the details of the new interior walls.....

But don't look if you want it to remain a surprise :)

Anyway, the link is:

Also, there are new pics of the signs and windows lit up - the original photos made it look as though they wouldn't..  interesting.  Lights up more like my TARDIS now, so pleased with that.. :D
My pilot's license? That's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill. Revoked. Trouble at the Kazakhstan border.

I could give you the details but then I'd have to kill you, which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked.
