Many years ago I used to have a pen that looked almost exactly like that. I wonder if this design was inspired by that old pen. (And I wish I still had that pen so I could really compare it to this design.)

Eddyc, you must be a "Render Wizard"! After the big reveal tomorrow we'll see just how close your render came. (You've always had a pretty good eye for picking out details, so I'm guessing that you'll be pretty close.)

Gosh, I remember all of the renders that you did for the Eleventh's Screwdriver when it was first seen, Eddyc! I feel old now

Childofgallifrey - I wouldn't call if official, it's just a sketch I made and a few measurements I took (not to scale) because posting an original image of it on the forum would land us in the shit!

I agree about trying to complete the design to best guess though! I saw quite a few pseudo-Smith ideas, as in sure we all did, including Eddy's fantastic works, and I still think some of them are fantastically inventive!

I dunno, I like it, but it doesn't scream "sonic screwdriver" too me. More elegant, like the classic one, nice colour scheme, but something about the emitter seems off. Also, those bits sticking out the top seem slightly ungainly. Nevertheless, I will obviously getting all of the merchandise, probably one or three high-end replicas and will end up making one at some point!

It does look a great piece of design, and the construction looks very sturdy but I'm a little undecided at present. I think this would be very annoying to use as it looks uncomfortable to hold and not very 'pocket friendly'.
