Hi Lawrence,
For the Brachacki box I went for Oxford Blue if you are in the UK, you can buy the paint from Wilkos not to expensive, with a dark undercoat, I have had a few problems with painting now all sorted, I did try cuprinol but i was not happy with the results, Good luck with the build, this is great place for tip and advice.
all the best.

Lawrence, if you haven't seen it yet, there are downloadable PDF plans for the Hartnell (Brachacki) TARDIS here: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=644.0. And for help and hints with building and assembling the pieces there is the TARDIS Builders Workshop Manual (http://www.relative-dimensions.net/TARDISbuildersMANUALbyGLENWALKER.pdf), also a free download.

Those should get you started, and as senseidale says, this is the place to ask all sorts of questions about building a TARDIS. So no matter how trivial you might think your question is, ask it and someone will answer it. (There are no stupid questions.)
