I've been keeping this a secret for a while now. This has been the main reason why I haven't really been updating lately because I've been mostly focusing in this new and different project. I thought it would be fun if a make a 1/5 scale model TARDIS. First here's a photo of rough plans that helps to get the right shapes.

A lot of the pieces needed have been made but there are many that still need to be cut.

Here's what the walls look like up close.

The doors are just the same just without the sign space.

Here are the posts up close.

And here's one of the windows.

Hopefully more can been done soon but until then, that's all for now.

Actually, that's quite a bit so far, and she's looking really great! I'm interested to see how you tackle the lamp, and what sort of lighting (if any) you plan to put in her for the windows, signs, etc.

Thanks Dino. We will have lights but we have not decided on how we will achieve it yet.

Though we have not glued it yet, we tried to do a rough assembly of it.

We hope to make the 'Police Box' signs next.

The window holes have been cut out and windows are being made but until they are made here are a few photos of what model looks like now.
DSCN1177.JPG
I even put in view the toy TARDIS to show the size comparison.
DSCN1178.JPG
I even put the completed window in but it won't be glued until the area around the hole of the window is painted to avoid any chance of blue paint getting on the window frame or the plastic.
DSCN1179.JPG
I even tried to make it look like the doors are open.

That's all for now.

She's looking even better with that test fitting, LMC! Now I'm really looking forward to see her all finished and in her "blue dress".

As for the lighting, considering her size, have you thought about possibly using the innards of a smaller Coleman-type LED lantern? If you could remove the workings from the lantern shell I'm sure it would all fit inside, and still leave room for the doors to open. And those lanterns have a dimmer switch to control their brightness, so that would allow you to turn up the lighting in bright (daylight) situations, and dim it down in darker places to the lighting isn't too overpowering.

Good news. The doors have now been hinged.

Now they can open properly.

Just a little update to show what we have so far.
DSCN1204.JPGDSCN1205.JPG
I also changed the PTO sign.
DSCN1206.JPGDSCN1210.JPG
I know that the Smith/Capaldi PTO sign says 'officers' but I just wanted to make mine a bit different. Hopefully we can get the police box signs done soon but it might be some time until they are done.

You know, every time I look at another of these amazing photos (the ones with the colored clothes pins aside) I have to keep reminding myself that it's a scale model, and not a full-size build. That says something about the quality of the work and the attention to the details going into this little beauty!

Fantastic progress, LMC! (Puts my little "Sexy Thing" to shame, and since I can't bring myself to renovate her after all these decades, you're making me think of building another model, maybe not one as large as yours, but definitely one larger than my original model.)

Yet another update. This what we have for the base.
DSCN1251.JPGDSCN1252.JPGDSCN1253.JPGDSCN1254.JPG
Here's what it would roughly look like when they attached to the rest of the model. But a few more things to do before they are actually glued.
DSCN1255.JPGDSCN1256.JPGDSCN1257.JPGDSCN1258.JPG
Also, the sign have their plastic in and soon the actual sign will be glued in.

That's all for now.

Yet another quick update. Just wanted to show what the PTO sign looks like with it now blue frame. Just like the Police Box signs, it also has a piece of plastic in front of the paper that gives it a nice shine.
