With thanks to Paul Griggs and Gavin Rymill, here's a photo of P31, the Rushey Green Box, on the corner by the old Midland Bank (now HSBC) and in the shadow of Eros House, designed by architect Rodney Gordon - responsible for many of the 1960's brutalist buildings around the UK.

Metbox List info:

P31 (Rushey Green, east side 45 yards south of Brownhill Road )
Commissioned: 13-Aug-34
Removed: 08 Sep 70
District: Catford
Sub-division: Lewisham

A couple of blowups from different resolution originals of the above --

Still a middle-period Mark 2, even at this late date.

An approximate POV shot in current Streetview (though not zoomed in to approximate the framing) --

Not much to see, but there's another photo of this Box at the same source and taken at the same time --

Blowup of a higher-res version --

About where the woman in red is - noting that the fence line was set back when the sidewalk area was remodeled for the newer bus lane.

The Eros House was built on the site of a couple of local landmarks - the distinctive Lewisham Hippodrome on the corner (becoming the Eros Cinema in later years) and the Queen's Hall Cinema (later renamed the Gaumont, as many were).

Here the two are circa 1920 --

The domed structure is the Hippodrome and the eventual Site of P31 is clear over on the right side of the photo.

Here are both theatres in 1959, not long before they were demolished --

Frustratingly, the Box was just a little to the right of frame.

Here they were at night (same issue as far as the Met Box) --

These are the OS maps that show this Box:

From 1948-1952 (marked "PC Box" at centre of map) --

And from the 1970-1971 OS map ("PCB" at centre of map) --
