Hi Dino,

The knob I am looking for is the bronze colored one that goes with the box that has the 8 lights ( I think the restoration guide referes to it as the scanner lever )

I attached a pic for better clarity of the part --

Thanks

Oslm, I poked around and these are the only other images I've got of that knob:

1996ConsoleDetail09.jpg
This one is a slightly different angle than yours, and shows a little more of the knob where it meets the lever;

TARDIS(MovieConsole)03a.jpg
Here's an enlarged, somewhat enhanced image of that knob with it pushed to the other side. You can see how it looks from the "underside" where it's affixed to its lever;

And finally just for reference, this is the image that I used to crop and enlarge the one above.

Hopefully at least one of these will be of help to you. I wish I had more.

That's an Eastlake style doorknob.  You may never find its exact twin, but there are many similar ones.

If you're looking to buy one of these, here's one of its close cousins:
http://www.rejuvenation.com/catalog/products/eastlake-door-knob/items/doorknob-eastlake

If you're just looking for different angles of the knob for rendering it, here's an image of four knobs on their shafts, set crisscrossed for display:
EastlakeKnobs01.jpg
These pretty much give you an all round look at their shape. And the color of the one on the console (as in your photo and the others posted here) is a "red bronze", which according to one of the sources for this knobby (and a rather pricey one) says that is a custom color, and to call for pricing. (Those words make the hair on the back of my neck stand up!)

I hope this is helpful.

thanks guy's for the reference images and the name of the type of knob used -- I have done some google searches and I am almost ready to show the results of my searches --

I should be updating with images later this evening --

oslm

Well, it has been a busy long weekend and I have a few updates to pass along --

First, I have taken all of the reference images given to me to get started on the Eastlake Knob that goes on the scanner control lever --

HandleTestRender_zps355fd26a.jpg

and here is a profile image as well --

HandleTestRender2_zpsb98aef44.jpg

I am going to look again at possibly redoing some of the details on the top of the handle, but until I added it to the main console and do a full view render I won't know how it will look --

Speaking of a full rendered view, I played around with a couple of the lights and add some missing parts and I have this image to share --

Enjoy

expendable

looks great! Needs more lights!

oslm

There will be more lights, but for now I am running with minimum lights ( other wise the render time goes way up)

I'm trying a new lighting style for this update -- I have dropped the "toon look" that the last few renders have had -- This is more of a single blanket light source with a few console bulbs lit up --

Let me know what you think of this style versus the previous one --

Enjoy --

Kingpin

Looks rather nice with the more realistic rendering. :)

On thing I feel I should point out is that the words on the time/destination "tumblers" should be all in capitals, and should be white rather than gold.

oslm

Thanks for the comment  ;D

You are right about the lettering being all upper case, but from the reference pics I have of the console the lettering is more of an off white or light bronze coloring -- I will look at changing the lettering in a future update --

expendable

Wonderful look on all the components! Try off-white for the lettering.

oslm

Sorry about the delay in updates on this ( been a busy couple of days ) -- Anyway, I have added the last few pieces to the overall set that I am going to model (for now) --

Rotor Test 4.jpg

I will render out the other side tomorrow (and maybe some closeups) as I have found out that if I try to render it all in one shot, my program crashes -- Just to many lights for the program to handle, time for an update --

Enjoy

She's looking very beautiful! I look forward to the other side. I'm also curious to see how your "Eastlake" knob turned out.

As promised, here is the back side all lite up and rendered --

Rotor Test 5.jpg

I will be looking at doing detailed render's of all of the panels with there full lights over the next few days -- then once that is finished I will have to look at doing the six cross beam supports --
