Hello,

This is my first post on this forum so hello all  :) -- I am a 3D modeller and for a new project I decided to make the 8th Doctor console -- I will be updating as much as possible, so hopefully you guys will enjoy this thread --

So here is my first upload of the console --

This is the start for the first panel, once I have completed all of the panels, I will then work on the textures and lighting -- I am currently using 3dsmax 2010 with vray for the model -- All opinions and suggestions are always welcomed --

Very nice so far! Don't forget to check the References we have for the consoles!

I will still have to make the brake handle and the lamp for the first panel but not bad so far -- I have a few ideas for the textures so I might take a look at that in the morning --

Aside from the Reference Section for textures and details on the panels, controls, and just about everything else, this is about the best reference for this console: http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=3413.msg37434#msg37434. Hopefully it will help you in rendering this beauty.

Ooh that looks pretty - I love that cartoon-black line around everything.

Well here we go with day number two -- first, thanks for the link to the restoration site of the original console that was a great read and has given me some ideas -- So I started today on the third panel, I think that I will first finish off all the panels then do there small accessories (handles, lamp, etc)

Anyway here is this mornings update --

Final update for the day (yeah)

I have now worked on four of the panels and started to look at the reference pics for the underside of the console -- At this rate I figure I might have the console finished by the weekend --

Enjoy --

This is looking fantastic!

Hello,

The worst panel to have to model is finished (the radio panel) -- Way to many knobs and small objects --

There is now only one more panel to finish and then I will be starting on the base of the console -- The claw feet are going to be the most hardest part to do, but hopefully they will turn out --

Enjoy --

Ah, but that's what makes it challenging, and keeps things interesting. Besides, what's a Classic console without loads of knobbies on one panels? ;) And I'm glad you found the Restoration Article helpful and enjoyable to read. Those guys really worked like surgeons on that beauty (and one of them is one of our members!).

And like everyone else has said so far, this is coming along beautifully!

It's the satisfaction of knowing you did a great job. And you are, too!
