Hello!

I thought I'd bring some old stuff of mine to the forum, just for completeness (and those that are interested). Plus with the recent builds of others' K9s, its made me all jealous that I'm not making this little critter anymore!

Here is my build of everyone's favourite tin dog, built way back in 2002? I think... so apologies for the poor quality of these pictures.

I'd love to go back and give this guy another go.

David, that is an excellent K-9! Took me a second to realize that 3-D look on his "legs" was only painted on - it looked so good! The only thing missing is that little monitor on his left side. Other than that little detail...

FANTASTIC!

Thanks for sharing the pics, I hadn't actually shaped the side of my K-9 so will need to try and paint the depth look, so it's nice to see one which shows it can be done!

  :D

Thanks Darth and Dino (a spin off show surely? Flintstones meets Star Wars) for your kind words.

No idea why I never completed the side panel on him, my grown up geek'o'meter was obviously not developed enough back then to get it accurate.

FYI those that are interested, the measurements came from the Technical Manual.

Well, if you take into account the "Baldrick" side of that for the spin-off, we would certainly need Emperor Blackadder! ;D

I Really like the way you worked around some complex angles and carpentry with a clever paint job.  This really gets the idea across.  This is lovely.  I too have been thinking about building a K9 for roughly 30 years.... makes me want to jump in and do this right now too.

Well Done sir!

thanks for sharing

Dave

Of all the K9s I've seen this really stands out. I love how it's got some real thought behind it, thought on how to paint in the details and attach the head for example, and the result is a build that you can tell was loved from the start ;) it's a stunning build, it really does stand out from the crowd!
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Gosh those are some supportive words for something well on 15 years old now, thank you chaps :)
