The Box at the south corner of Eglinton Toll (aka St. Andrew's Cross) - D14.

Note that though the original Glasgow List doesn't indicate this Box was Resited, this map shows that it clearly was moved quite a bit south of its original position (from the centre of the apex of the corner to the west side of Victoria Road where the Glasgow List places it), probably when the Cross was divided in late August 1946 (work began 18 Aug), changing it from a five-way crossing to two parallel roadways with a barrier between.

Identified a couple pics I had lying around as of this Box after the Resiting.

Here it is in July of 1976 --

The niche where the Box was located is behind the blue traffic sign on the left.

Nolte: The original Glasgow List places this second Site as being 70 yards south of Pollokshaws Road, but the OS maps measure out at right around 62 yards, so I've updated the database location description and added information about the original Box Site and the date of Resiting under Remarks.

Interesting to see the bitumen paint on the base there.   Who is the model any one we know :0)

I've noticed a few of these boxes seem to have black roofs, I was thinking they were just painted that way but some sort of rainproofing would make sense.

I notice that some had black roofa even in the days the were red.

Just someone on holiday. Not even quite sure where I picked them up at this point. The original photos/scans were faded and yellowed, so had to do a bit of colour correction on them.

Mike Knight confirmed that all or most of the Glasgow Boxes had their roofs painted with weather proofing bituminous material in the early to mid-60s to try to resolve leaks and stave off weathering issues with the concrete without going to the expense of proper refurbishment. Obviously some had the bases coated as well.

The remaining red parts were then painted blue a few years later, apparently due to the association with Doctor Who - like Pete, it seems visitors just couldn't wrap their heads around the idea of a Red TARDIS  ;).

It's amazing how background clutter can make things look different than the actually are. Encountered similar, and even the reverse, in more than a few Met Box photos.

Here's a closeup af this photo that shows a bit more of the details --

Even the beacon is all but obscured, but you can still just make it out as a change in shape and texture in the grey tones above the roof.

Appears to be a bit later than the c1930s shot, with obvious wear to the paint, but still with white window frames as first installed, so probably dates from the early to mid 1940s, or perhaps just before the war.

From the following photos dated 1917, it looks like a cast-iron Mark 2 preceded the above Mark 4, but on the north corner of the junction, under the newly built Tram Shelter (also made of cast-iron by MacFarlane's Saracen Foundry, Possilpark)  --

The outline seems unmistakable, including the signal mast. If true, then per Mike's recent posting of the lists from 1933 it was replaced by a Mark 4 at the outset of the new police/public system, unlike many others.
