Greetings, the mission to have built a full size Tardis for my daughters 10th birthday ( 09/06/07 ) !!!!!!!!!! ::) .Started the build on 04/05 base  completed by end of day constructed from 6 pieces of 100mm x 50mm pse over laid with 18mm hard wood ply over laid with 9mm non slip ply.18 joints all glued & pinned. Started work on the sides 05/05 constructed from 18mm hard wood ply overlaid with 18mm cut into various widths & lengths to create the panel effect.1st one took ages to set up to get the proportions right but once I thought it looked RIGHT the next 1 was real quick ! Took the weekend off to go play with the family but today (08/05 ) completed the 3rd side & started work on the doors.Cutting all the strips with a 30* angle was very time consuming but well worth the effort.Pics to follow

After many months of travel I`m back & once again working on my daughters TARDIS.In a very short time I have managed to have had made some metal window frames which will have the two types of glass fitted although I`m having this effect duplicated in one piece of perspex (kids & broken glass,NO NO ) police sign for the illuminated sign boxes, although I think the color has come out a tad lighter than I would have liked but they were done as favor & didn`t cost me  8-) & the thing that Iam most proud of, A GENUINE FRESNEL LENS LAMP GLASS !!!!!!! More details as soon as I get them done greetings to you all keep up the good work

You seem to be having a little trouble there mate. Allow me to be of assistance :) if you want to see how I did it, hit quote and have a look at the tags surrounding your links :) (spaces are your friend ;))

Your build looks like its coming together very well :) Interesting on the bottom of your build. I take it your corner posts and doors will be inside the base?

Thanks for the help,as you have probably guessed I`m not techie !! more of a hands on type. The sides & doors will be inside post but the base will either built out flush with the post or the post will be moved up & a plynth built out around the base.Leaving the post as is will be easier but not authentic, hope I have solved the problem I had of adapting the roof to  slot together & lock the sides. Also intend to modify the doors to open out wards to maximise the internal space.Big thank you to everybodys help & encouragement,I choose my alias with good reason !!!

GOOD DAY TODAY !!! have completed the steps above the sides/doors.Finaly came up with a neat solution that slides in & locks the sides to the corner posts without any fixings & as a bonus they look just right :-).And as real bonus have finalised the design of the sign box hope they work as well but I think they may need some metal brackets to fix them to the corner posts, the weight of the roof may hold them

Based on Glens design with a few of my own ideas along the way to aid construction but hope to keep it authentic looking.Finished the 1st sign box today & looks good, just 3 more to go !!!

apprentice - welcome back from your travels.  Keep us posted with your progress and details on your Genuine Fresnel Lens.  I found a place in the states that had a few intermediate sized Fresnel lenses with Karsts help, but it good to know of other places too.

Cheers,
Jon~

quick up date before I take the little apprentice for a jaunt across the galaxy ( back in a week or so ) have nearly completed the light housing & couldn`t resist a try out with the lens,IT LOOKED SO COOOL !!!!!! have all so collected the timber machined for the base & tried them in place & they are going to look great as well.as to the lens it`s along story but basicaly I got real lucky on e-bay a guy was selling old ships lenses & he just so happened he had one that when I received it it was the same dimensions as the one on the original Baracki prop         OH DEAP JOY
