Tony, i intend to document reconstruction as a continuation of my build diary. A sorta living evolution of this box.

Atomic, yes and i get to fix some errors made in construction, my sign boxes were not true to the Brachaki design, for some reason i stretched like the Hudolin box. This will bring it back into place.

I feel like a real nut case going out in my yard with a tape measure going over my box taking down dimensions. Dont have the luxury of materialisingover it like in Logopolis lol.

Whoa you're not the only one doing this at the moment!
Mine may only be 2, but what after the ludicrous heat, ludicrous snow, stronger and frequent winds, 3 children's parties, British rain, a pigeon with bad aim and a tree taking a nap on it my box is pretty beat up!
Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out! Like you I'm going for a darker blue and taking my box closer to the Hartnell-era on its "hybrid scale" so it'll be interesting to see how both of them look after restoration! Good luck on yours, and have a drink on me for the constant headache of TARDIS maintenance ;)

EDIT: Out of interest, has anyone else ever found they have one area of their TARDIS that seems to have particular bad luck? I only ask because last week, that pigeon I mentioned up there flew at a very high speed straight into the forward window on my TARDIS's left side, shattering it to pieces in spectacular fashion. This is the fourth time this has happened to this particular window! (First it was caused by wind, then an accident with a rake, and second-last time by a falling tree) It's getting to be a regular thing now, anyone else experienced anything like this?
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Whoa, Scott! That looks really painful. Hopefully the repairs will go quickly and easily. (Are you still thinking of that darker color blue if you do a full repaint during the repairs? If you are, and you do, I'll have to update my avatar when you're done! ;))

Need to reach out to UK members. i went into Lowes Paint dept tonight and in the Pantone section the numbers are different. I had them look up Pantone 2955C and nothing. Frustrating because the Dulux Venitian Crystal 2 i did mine originally in was easily sourced and reproduced in their system.

Does anyone have a sample card of the 2955c? If so willing to drop it in mail so i can have the computer identify the colour. or possibly know a US Equivalent.

I grabbed 4 blue cards from Pantone Rack and none of them blow my skirt up.

I found this and was amused to it's reference.

Here are Pantone Colors broke down into CMYK and RGB mixes, if that helps.

There is this PDF that they could try and sample from if they can sample digitally.

P.S.  The PMS code everyone circles around for the "official" TARDIS blue is for printing, not for paint.  You can download an app for your smartphone (Apple & Android) that allows you to access all the Pantone libraries and also use it as a spectrometer for color matching! Only for $9.99.

Bill thanks for the effort, unfortunately printed or digital copies of colour will not transfer.

I can see if the CMYK RGB  values can be manually programmed, otherwise i will just need to make my best guess, or get my hands on an actual 2955 c card

This link will make your head spin.  A variety pf color mixture systems, but I don't know if it includes paint. http://encycolorpedia.com/003d6e

I got the new vinyl today, not bad $50 for set of 4. I peeled one of my acrylic signs. Look what 3 years of sun will do to the white. There is even a slight ridge like the wind and dirt sandblasted a layer over the years leaving the outline of the letter.

Anyhow a good flip and she will be good as new.

Just seen you pictures... I'm having to do a similar restoration job with mine.  :'(

Who's have thought a TARDIS would need so much maintenance :D

Well update: unfortunately since i announced my plans to fix the damage on my box we have had almost constant rain making it near impossible to get in and correct the damages. In addition the latest round has exposed my biggest fear, the corner post is not repairable. Several photos to follow.

Here you can see the post seperating beyond repair.

Same corner post, my finger tore through this.

Ouch! Scott, that one photo almost brings tears to my eyes. Hopefully you'll be able to replace that post without too much trouble. And equally hopeful, the other weather damage can also be repaired easily.

That last photo, though? I'd write that one off as "the money shot"! (You're right; she is pretty, and my avatar agrees with you! ;))

wow sorry to see that. looks like you've got a good solid coat of paint on her. does water pool up in spots then gets in between the wood panels?  the last shot looks like theres nothing wrong, but hey at least you've got an excuses to do some more tardis building

geminitimelord

Atomic, well actually the cement block platform has a slight grade to the left. Apparently it is slight to the left and front so front left corner is where all water flows. Now i thought i sealed it up good at top but somehow water managd to run behind the wood in that corner. Last fall i noticed moss growing inside the box on that corner and this winter the constant freezing just tore it up. Also the fronts of the signs where acrylic meets wood allowed water to enter and pool inside the sign boxes. My new design has the signs with a thin layer of clear acrylic. This will protect the vinyl lettering, as i discovered when i applied the clear silicone caulk to prevent the water issue it shrank and pulled the vinyl lettering allowing the water to penetrate. I should be able to create a proper silicone seal on the clear cover and the wood so the new sign boxes will be tight. I also have some liquid rubber to give additional coverage on the tops of the corner posts and prevent the water from wicking down and destroying the construction,

I tell you had i seen this my original build would have been altered to prevent these issues.
