That's a brilliant picture with the phone box in the foreground - and I love the proportions of your Police Box, KB (and Robert_Punk - welcome to the rebuilders btw!) - it's looking amazing! And that red oxide looks kind of right, somehow... But still looking forward to seeing it in blue  ;)

cheers

Oh my, that roof line looks sooooo good!

Great to finally see someone do the windows like that, as well.

Wonderful build!!!

It looks just so... right.

Hi All
I've been quite poorly with a nasty tummy bug these last three days and offline to the world so I come back and.............
What can I say? So much good stuff coming my way, I really do feel humbled. One thing I'm hearing that makes it for me is "Police Boxy" and the like. That was always my original aim and I thank each and everyone of you out there. You guys are the best and nobody can say otherwise.
From the heart

PS Started the doors today at last, pics tomorrow

Hi All
A quick update on the doors. I've built them using much the same method as the side panels only with the windows already made, they fit the apertures First Time unlike the others. I know the left upright is narrower than the right but this has a reason. The wood behind the corner posts (With added cladding to maintain dimension) is the factory off cut from the side panels I originally ordered and protrude about 25mm. This means (Hopefully) that the corners and butts are perfectly straight. Obviously the other door is congruent If it turns out awful I'll change it but the winter draws on and I have push on with my current idea.
A few pics to illustrate;

Here's the panel I was refering to

As ever with many thanks to everybody

KB,
Your doors are looking splendid! ;D
I can't wait to see them mounted.
You're reaching the finish line.
Keep those pics coming.

By the way, I will be away from cyberspace for approximately 6 days.
I am leaving tomorrow morning for Disney World in Florida.  I am not sure if they will have INTERNET access, but I will look around for a terminal to see how your build is coming.

Your friend,

Excellent proportions KB.

You have certainly done what you said you were intending.

I'd be pretty happy with a box looking that good.

Nice work mate.

I doubt anyone's really interested in this but below is a picture of what my Mum bought me for my birthday to go next to the K6. I still have to dig a hole to put a post in to attach it to but i'm putting it off because it's going to be hard work. We do seem to have a street scene starting to appear in our back garden.

Hi All
Today I've reached a real milestone. With massive assistance from "Robertpunk" the doors are on and they don't catch top or bottom, just each other very slightly at the top;

And with Carole holding the windows and pull to open door in place, (Don't ask me how) the finishing post is now clearly in sight

When I started with a broken screwfix fresnel those months ago this level seemed well, light years away. But with all the help and encouragement from everybody here this 50year old little boy is getting what he's always dreamed of
With many thanks my friends

There's nothing more that I can say other than that is looking rather spectacular there... seems everyone is going to beat me to the finish line.  Ho Hum.

Very well done, a marvelous job if ever I saw one.

CKB, your box is looking awesome!

And very Police Boxey, as has been mentioned a number of times. Congrats!
