That's pretty close to a regular Police Box sign.

ok  so yesterday i had a bad day so i needed to make some changes. first most of my time was being spent on assembling and disassembling for each work session, that was the first thing i needed to change. my build is now indoors  ;D after rearranging the shop there is just enough room for her. and here are a few photos

the tardis is pretty creepy looking indoors

this is my other change:the way i'll be working i'm gonna get one side completed at a time instead of jumping from one section to another

i'm hoping things will run much smoother now

take care all

at first i was going to build a 2005 box but it's gonna be in my home. if i'm gonna see it every day i want as much detail as i can squeeze into it. i really like how the text (on older boxes) is  more bold. it was pretty tedious to create all the letters but in the long run i think it'll be worth it. if anyone wants a copy of the file let me know i'll email it to you

not to much going on with the build at the moment, "just tying up loose ends". i tried to start on the windows this evening but they are just giving me a lot of trouble. any way here are my doors the paint color looks a little light but i'll fix that once every thing else is built. if there is one lesson i've learned from doing this is don't jump around when you work.

so i think i've finally come up with a plan to make the windows ;D
windowtemplate.jpg
i've cut them from ply wood. my first attempt at this turned out very, very ugly, but i think i've got it worked out now.

routedwindow.jpg
the lines one the first one i did were very wavey (mostly due to using a crappy jig saw) the new frames are a little wavy but once they were routed they look pretty good (i still need to sand them down to take out the humps)

Goodness! What a great way of doing the windows. To think I made little glazing bars with halving joints over a single pane. I know what to do when mine erode!
Many thanks

thanks again nightmare! my box will have to go through some pretty small doors so i needed it to be easy to take apart and reassembled the only tool i need (thus far) is a 1/2 inch socket. plus i want to carry it down town to take some really cool photos. i'll have to be quick to get it together before i get harassed by the "man". thats the cool thing about a police box they never look out of place (once they are together)

i wish i could remember who has this in their statement box "everybody has at least one tardis in them"... tardis building is good for the soul. i've been very stressed out by work lately and work on this project is very good for me

edit: thats time girls statement  ;)
