Another challenge. Going by the STD code on the billboard it's either 041 (Glasgow) or 044 (Suffolk or Berkshire)

The car gives an approximate date. Must be 1969 onwards. Can anyone help.

Definitely a Glasgow box by the lamp and the phone door. The car is a mk3 Ford escort so the picture is post 1980.

No it can't be, the first picture has an overhead electrical connection set up.
It's two different boxes.

It always made me wonder if the scots ran out of paint when they painted these Boxes..Body in old (original) Met Colour and roof in "new" (later) Colour...
But then I was told they ALL used to be Red!   :'(

I have a strong suspicion that this box is the original Buchanan Street Box when it was located at the top of the street (I've copied in a photo from the Buchanan Street thread).

I'm basing this on the position of the door and my memory of the street; it was extensively renovated (and the box removed) in the late 80s or early 90s, so it's hard to be certain.

I used to pass this box regularly. Once when I was about 10 or 11, I came round the corner and squealed with delight, for the door was open. My mum asked the police officer if I could have a look and for a few brief moments I was allowed to step inside.

The colour photo appears to be Buchanan Street, comparing the chimneys with this photo of the Glasgow Pawnbroking Co.:

That's pretty impressive detective work, Kingpin!

This Box is so famous...Not only have so many celebrities visited it BUT it seems it's trying to escape to England.....
(The most number of moves/re-sites South for ANY box!)  ;D

This box was at the top of Buchanan Street. Outside the Parrot Pub. The entrance to the Buchanan Galleries sits where the box was. This box was stored for years by me at Strathclyde Uni. It now sits at 1A Royal Bank Place at Buchanan St.

No this box is off Argyle Street at West Campbell St. It is one of mine also preserved.
