Just came across these photos in a forgotten Facebook folder. Back when Dapol had the Doctor Who license, before Product Enterprises and Character options - I built a Tardis or two.

Custom Tardis - This is supposed to be a stone Tardis with engraved controls - The Controle room has an open sky and green vines growing inside the Tardis- This has the Dimensions in Time Tardis floor - Panoramic View Screen - When not in use the panels of the console lay flat but as the doctor runs around the console pressing controls he can raise the panel into an upright position to punch the appropriate set of controls. Could be very interesting to watch him frantically set the console in an emergency. When the Tardis is in turmoil there is a storm raging in the console room.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

I've never had any particular fondness for Dapol - Davros with both arms, five-sided consoles, etc - but your photos have made me re-assess them. With some clever 'dressing', they look curiously effective!

Yeah - I have to agree - I was never fond of the likenesses - Pertwee and Tom just didn't look like them. While I still keep a memento or two most of my Dapol Collection has been sold off to ebay to pay the bills. I did buy a few in package characters because I have fond memories of my mostly "outside the Tardis" adventures. Most of the Character Options figures have that same stoic look on their face - aside from that mad grin of Tom Baker's. - I'm trying to turn my attentions to a Doctor Who Collection I can cosplay with or make a movie with(models, etc.).

Sounds like a good idea - if anyone can build the models, it's you!

:)

if you do the measurements, and I do the models that makes us - The Visual Effects Department. Now we just need a production company to work for.  ;D

A Visual Effects Department - I like the sound of that (er, sorry, wrong department)! We jut need a production company to work for - I case two problems there: Firstly, we are separated by a small body of water known as "The Atlantic" (logistics would be a nightmare)! Secondly, how would we get that past Crispin and the other board moderators? Just joking guys!!  ;D
