You're right mate, it really is pretty damn close!

I hope you didn't take any of my points as criticism :)
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

No - it was just after Rustymetaldog pointed out the Hexes - being crunched when I bisected them and lost some of the surface area on the console I began to worry that I may have wrong angles and maybe had to redo the console. Started watching Season 21 again and because of the camera angles - it looks like I might have some of the angles off by some large amount.(I think it may just be the camera angle. - I'm hoping.) I have already invested a lot of time into the current console and I'd hate to have to go back and start from scratch. Hopefully this doesn't sound too excessive but I think that the second I'm done with the Full scale console - I'm going to clean up the workshop and have a good nights sleep - do to work in the morning - and then I'll make my way to the workshop- and be floored because I hope I'll have that magic child like moment when I loose my ego and geek out over having the Tardis.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

I think in the scale you have, the angles are as near as damnit.

If it helps you refine your plans for a full size one then all the better :)

I completely agree with Rassilonsrod, you're angles are as near as dammit. At this scale, the quality of build and your eye for detail are brilliant.

Thank you guys :D ;) I think I've lost my worry that I may have a few dimensions out of order - I suppose the dimensions will take care of them selves in the end. As long as it looks like what I want it to look like I'll be happy. This discourse has been enlightening and I've learned quite a lot from the photos posted. It is good to know the base is on a plinth (the plinth has a plinth) the inch / two inches(?) that goes strait down from the angled plinth at the base. (probably so the corners wont get chipped during studio use.) I have some work in New Jersey this weekend so I will probably get some work done over the weekend - and I should have an update by Sunday. (Maybe)

Whoa there coke! Its fine! All looks great, I only pointed out the squished hexagons, but they're easy to fix, right? This is a great proof model, and its doing exactly what it should by showing how close you are to being able to build your full size one :)
Build high for happiness :)

Your work is really excellent. I can't wait to see your work on the life-size one. By the way I made this graphic based on one of the screen grabs you had here. I remember wanting to do this computer screen a long time ago, now I have a decent reference. Because the capture is at an angle and a little blurry I had to make some judgement calls on some of it, but I think it's pretty good. I plan to make a screen saver of Doctor Who images for the display on my console. Take a look.

Looks pretty smurfing close to me! (I may use this for one of my desktop wallpaper choices, along with all of the other TARDIS screen displays we've been gathering.)

Nice work!

I made sides to the monitors so that each side is exactly the same to keep the overall look of the Monitors.

After a few trims and final fittings It is time to glue the scanners in place.

I noticed that the tops of the panels were uneven so I've had to trim them.

The next template

after figuring out some dimensions, it is time for some clear plastic sheet (with blue protective covering)

I have an old fashioned red theater light gel. It has long since been warped by the intense heat of use. Hopefully I can use it.

That's going to look nice with the grey bits on top of it :)

The Crown template
Newcrowntemplate.jpg
had to cut out the comparator slots first.
IMG_6547A.jpg
IMG_6549A.jpg
IMG_6550A.jpg
added two layers of red filter.
IMG_6551A.jpg
IMG_6553A.jpg
in the end the structure was strong enough to stand without the clear plastic support.

I think I'm going to have to find some way of adding filler at the base of the crown to make it seamless with the rest of the panel.  Not sure what I can use.....
