Nice work! I'd swear some of your images were of the genuine console!

Well, I've been getting some more Screen Accurate parts for the console, first off is the bakelite switch above the levers next to the navigation panel...

IMG_20180207_120051_066.jpg

And today I got some proper wheel spacers through...

IMG_20180210_181155_271.jpg

You can see they're slightly bigger than my Hardboard laser cut ones. I ended up having to get a new set of LED strip lights as the other set had the possibility of setting my flat alight.... :-[

But they're now replaced, and I've added a load of wires hanging from the ceiling

I'm planning on finishing off the TARDIS walls, getting them back lit, and possibly put some leather boarding around the inside of the TARDIS doors

You're starting to get that needle on my "ENVY!" meter wiggling again, BioDoc! Where did you find that bakelite switch? (Another eBay find? Or someplace else?)

Dino, I found it on eBay for £15, and I've just bought the SA car stereo in the hopes of wiring it up  ;)

Wow! Really nice find! Just curious, but what search words did you use to find it, or was it an accidental "Oh! Look what I just found!" moment?

I think I just put in 'bakelite switch'. It had been on my watch list for a while, and it had. Been relisted a couple of times, but at a higher price, but I messaged the seller, asking if he would sell it at £15, which included the postage and he accepted

So, I've been tinkering more with the console, and have added another SA part, and also bought another one today, but I haven't got the space for it on the panels...

I managed to buy the Screen Accurate stereo, and I have added it into the buttress and wired it up to a 12V power supply, and it works, although it plays up a bit trying to read CDs as it's on its side....

IMG_20180227_195357.jpg

I also picked up a SA Amber IKEA paperweight...

IMG-20180227-WA0002.jpeg

Debating about trying to put this on the console, but there's part of me that doesn't want to ruin the label.

I also added large bubble wrap under the Zyton Crystal panel, and updated the oxygen valve part in between the keypads

Hopefully more will be coming soon, I plan to try and get some more accurate parts, slowly but surely

Nice finds!  Looking so good.  I've bought so many bubble glass paperweights now, but amber eludes me, maybe they never made it to this side of the world.   And SA stereo, thats impressive!   You have quite a few genuine pieces now, very impressive!

Try eBay, Glen. I've seen amber ones on there for not much money. (Some sellers do ask unreasonable prices for theirs, however.) I found two 3-inch diameter amber ones on eBay for $15 US each (including shipping), though that was a couple of years ago.

BioDoc, don't worry about the label. One of my clear bubble globe eBay finds came with a label on the bottom flat. It's a round label and I left it there, mainly because it has the initials "GSA" on it. Any other lettering is too small or smudged to read, but to me that GSA stands for "Gallifreyan Science Association", where they make bubble globe-like controls for TARDIS consoles! ;)

Many more pieces than I have (for a console that won't fit in my house :P). So... (Yeah... here it comes...)

So for a while I've been planning on doing the TARDIS walls and making them recessed...but after pricing it up, it started to look quite expensive....about £90+, fortunately where I work, we get pallets of laminate flooring, which have panels of MDF on top to keep them from getting damaged, and the MDF just gets thrown, so I asked if I could keep the panels, and work said yes. So that's reduced my cost massively. Handily, the panels are the right width for a set of 4 Roundels, so I just had to cut the length down....

So with one out of three sections done, all I need to do is get more wood from work, use these ones as a template for the other two panels, attach them together with 2x4s, add the Roundels, add textured wallpaper, paint and light from behind....

More updates soon

BioDoctor900

Well I got some more wood from work, and so I've done some more on the walls

As you can see, the textured wallpaper works quite well, there's still work that needs doing. I need to fill in some of the gaps between the Roundels and the wood once they're secured in place, they're currently held in with masking and electrical tape. Then I need to paint the wallpaper, add a black bar across the middle, add bracing bars of 2x4s, add texturing with paint and add lights

More soon

So I've been working a bit more on the walls. I bought some paint, some CLS 2x4's and some spot lights and have got to nearly finishing the walls. I had to pull the console forward so you can actually get behind the console. I haven't finished off the painting as the glue gun packed up while I was trying to fill in the gaps between the wood and the Roundels

The lighting still isn't right, but I only spent £3 to see how it would look with a bulb for each panel

Will hopefully get them finished soon sort out the lighting and attatch them to the wall
