Well, I grabbed these images from the DVD and thought they might be of some use :)

In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

I always thought this was some sort of standard industrial material because of it appearing over and over. Evidently not.

There are some other surfaces that make just as many appearances that we could probably identify. I'll have to produce some screen caps to expand this.

It has been used quite a few times, the main time i can remember it being used quite a lot was in the 90's game show 'The Crystal Maze'. It was used in the FUTURISTIC section, i've managed to find a few pictures.

Ah yes! In the "Futuristic" Zone. I used to LOVE that show :D Wish I could see more than season 1 again...

I knocked this render out lastnight while looking at the plans form the DVD.

It's interesting to see the name Ackland-Snow on the plans.  Is there any information on which one this is, eg Brian or Terry or Andrew?

Oddest sighting of these for me was on the DVD of the Beeb's The Legend of Robin Hood (1975), where they're on the ceiling of Nottingham Castle!

No information on "Ackland-Snow", the documentary focussed on Jeremy Bear.

I saw something on the bbc news website showing a concept for a real space capsule and they had used it. (I'll post it if I find it it was around the same time as the dvd came out)

Bizarrely there are ceilings of period buildings with a similar pattern to that in plaster, though usually a bit larger in scale...However, in a 12th century castle, I think most definately not, the floors and ceilings would have been been wooden beams supported by huge stone columns and arches or massive flat stone slabs supported by stone vaults, all very plain :)

It does have a look more befitting the Tudor period rather than that of the Norman, or even early Plantagenet.

Not to worry. Paul Darrow's scenery-chewing distracts from the roof most of the time!
