ok now that makes sense the MDF absolutely would swell up. I only ask because my roof is made from plywood and so far has endured 2 summers of heavy rain and a winter with heavy snow.  I was thinking it was more like HAIL which I fear for my box..

b4dw0lf

Within the next few months I fear theres going to be some more heavy rain and very strong winds.  I think one of my biggest concerns is the new windows.  The Grills are way stronger than before but the Acrylic is also a lot thinner than it was so I have my fingers crossed.

Im ordering my White Acrylic Door sign today, also I met someone who said they would put together a remote sound and light circuit for it so Im also completely done.  Which I know isnt something any TARDIS builder is ever really, because we always find something else to do, repaint, make look different blah blah blah

till the next update

I should send you some of the white Acrylic 1/4" stuff I have left over, I got a guy who owns Downriver Plastics and gives me a great price. I have a small piece laying around should dig it out and measure it. It's very strong @ 1/4" pure white. He gave me a partial sheet for my Tardis build to see how I liked it.
Also Delvie's Plastic's in Salt Lake City, Utah has a great selection priced reasonably.  Good online catalog too ;)

I wanted to add weathering to the outside, I think it looks better...

Inside is now painted also (weird it did actually take more paint to do the inside than the outside)

Im now thinking that the St. Johns ambulance badge might be another added stroke of awesomeness if I had that made in acrylic also.  I dont know if anyone has done this yet...  But I love the way it looks.

Love the weathered look man it's a great build. I'm currently working on my tardis and was wondering if u could let me know where u got ur door signs from. I think they are perfect for the look im going for. I'm hoping to put a  black light inside and The acrylic would be the final touch. Again fantastic job on the build...

b4dw0lf

I got my signs from 'Budget Signs' in Tucson.  They are fantastic and very helpful heres their website: http://www.gotobudgetsigns.com/ if you call, you want to ask for Dan.  Let him know I sent you...lol

Cheers

I dont understand it but more theres more leaks.  After repairing the roof and giving it coats of a number of water proofing.  It still bloody leaks.

So over the next few days I guess Im going to have to get everything thats inside out and see what I can do.  But for now its not a safe place for electronics.

Aaah the joys of TARDIS ownership

Maybe you should have someone spray a hose on it to see where the water comes from when you are inside it?

I can see where it comes in from on the inside but Ive coated the outside so many times I just dont understand how its still leaking. Im going out to buy some of that spray plastic and put a coat all over the effected area....

I said it before FIBERGLASS that puppy end of story. I had a whole roll of the stuff and could have sent you enough for free. I loaned it to a dune buggy buddy and having a hard time getting it back. All it will take is one phone call and I will have it. All you would need is the resin then. Then paint it any color you like when cured. Just let me know. The roll I have is like 5' by 100' at least. I never miss a little piece like that. I figure the only way I am going to get this back is making that call or posting on his dune buggy forum. again lol
Let me know buddy,

My Internet connection is being very frustrating, so I apologize for not reviewing your thread, but I've used some stuff called "Leak Stopper" by a company named Gardner.  It's a rubberized roof patching compound and, for my money, it is amazing stuff.  The reason I mention reviewing your thread is because I forget how much finish work you've done on your box.  The stuff is applied with a trowel and has the look and consistency of axle grease.  Unless you are very, VERY patient (and even then maybe not) it will look like you frosted your TARDIS with tar.  But it gets the job done.

Oh, and I haven't painted the parts I waterproofed, but I'm 99.5% sure they'll take paint.  (I need to rework the lintel signs and possibly the lamp, so I want to wait til those are done and paint everything in one swoop.)
