Excellent work I look forward to seeing more on this build.

Hi all...

Been a bit quiet here, but I wouldn't want you to think I've been slacking off...

Been busy making my TARDIS walls. Its taken a couple of weeks, as cutting all the angles has been laborious, but its worth it in the end...

I've only given them one top coat of paint so far, but I couldn't resist taping in a couple of window frames to see how they look :)

I need to get this finished now, as The Girlfriend is moaning that the side Patio is looking like a flat pack TARDIS factory... :o

Looking pretty sweet.

Very nice. I'm embarking on my own soon...

OK... I've finally finished my doors...

I built them the same way I built the walls, in that they are made up of a half inch section of ply, with sections of wood drilled and screwed to them to give them the characteristic rectangular recesses...

When I finished they looked like this...

I quite like them... The Girlfriend and my Daughter took one look at them and said, "Its a bit blue isn't it?" :D

Once I've finished sanding back my base and painting it, that will be pretty much every thing built bar a few detailing bits...

I really must get around to getting the signs made up and laying a concrete base for it some time soon...

Lovely work there. It's gonna look great!  :)

Today... I have been mostly fitting... Window frames!

As I said a while back I'm trying to replicate the real thing as much as possible, so I've gone for opening windows as well...

Its slowly coming together now...

Nice!  Good job on the windows, I wish my windows looked so professionally done.

fivefingeredstyre

Mate, your Brachacki box is pretty much perfect!

type55tardis

This is starting to look real good,I can't wait for the finished result.
so let me get this straight,A thing that looks like a Police box standing in a junkyard,It can move anywhere in Time and space ?

fivefingeredstyre

Cheers fella's

Today I've been working on the last piece of detailing for the walls, the little step section that is under the sign boxes...

IMG_2335.jpg

This is another piece of detailing that doesn't seem to be one the new series boxes...

Thats all the wood working pretty much done now... The only things left to build are the small sections that go on top of the pillars, which shouldn't take too ling to build :)

(I won't be doing it today though, its far too sunny and I really do need to get things a bit more tidy around here or the Girlfriend will kill me before too long... :o)

Next Episode:
How (not) to lay a concrete base...

geminitimelord

excellent job on the steps!  I like how you put the center divider and split the steps. I wanted to do that for mine and just wasnt thinking right.

domvar

Any progress this weekend?  Really looking forward to seeing the finished article.

fivefingeredstyre

Sadly not for the last week or so... I've been loafing around in Italy... :)

Next up is the concrete base down the bottom of the garden, but I don't think i'm going to get much time to start that for a fortnight or so...  :-[

Hey just been looking at your build, nice job so far. I particularly like your windows and the way they hinge like the original police boxes use to. You have got me wondering if I should attempt this on my build, even if it was just a couple to allow for a bit of air flow in the summer months.

Its also nice to see you appear to be a Triton workbench aficionado :) I bought this model just for my build and it's been excellent s far.
