I'm getting more of a TOS-Enterprise-Science-Station feel from this than an S19 feel to be honest.

Cool idea though :) I'm not sure why but when I look at that bit of the console, I am imagining an LED 8bit display...

those are all very nice screen caps. I never knew that console had so much detail!

It occurred to me that this part could be some sort of turn signal lamp enclosure like you might find on a trailer or caravan. It could even be a brake light from a scooter. That would explain the lens array textured red plastic (that looks purple in some scenes).

just in case my original theory about the black light box viewer was right here is an image I found.

It's so oddly shaped I don't think it's a viewer.

I can't remember when it started being a requirement on cars in America or if it's ever been in England, but what about the center rear window brake light enclosure found in cars? the two screw holes at the 'top' orientation of that widget as it is on the console may actually be the bottom of it's original use orientation.

The strange way it's beveled make me think it may have been meant to butt up against a rear car window.

Or maybe since there are two of these that I see, what about some sort of auxiliary driving light enclosures like fog lamps to go in a bumper?

It's going to take one hell of a stroke of luck I think after nearly 30 years to happenstance stumble on what they are. i wonder if we could ask whoever found them and put them on there if they would even remember what the heck they are from? Don't we all have something in the garage, some post industrial compost worthy component that we wonder, "what the heck do this come off of?" ;D

Finialy  I've got something to offer to this awesome thread. The third break light/ rear window tail light was mandated on all new cars in 1986 in the states

I don't remember seeing any of those in the UK until well into the 90s.

It is purple.
JNT told me that they had simply stuffed Easter egg foil in those 'headers' which happened to be Purple. They are covered with a thin perspex window, yes... they really did stuff as simply as that.

I think I found a way we can simulate this without buying a lot of chocolates.(optional)

I found this at Jo Ann Fabrics

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

As I am from America it took me a while to figure out what these might be.....

Celation has been using brake lights (from Jeeps?) on his Hartnell console. These certainly look like components carried over from those days :)

looking at the industrial rocker switches in this image (just under the red dome) - they look like faux industrial rocker switches. Some sort of mock up.

otherwise there appear to be 23 of them

Wow. These ringed items:

...are the remains of the plates and switches from the black piano keys from the original console.

Nice discovery!  You could mimic that look with switches from old Casio keyboards.

Those rocker switches are a pain to find! I have sound some that look kinda close but not real luck so far.
Any clue how long and wide they might be? Even if I could find one I could mold it up and make all the others.

meantimebob

Are they even genuine rocker switches? They look more like sawn up sections of wooden moulding to me, given a lick of paint.
