I suppose this should be 'props from the secondhand shops' as they haven't been produced for years, but still turn up on ebay.

At 3:09 in, this tank makes an appearance in Robot.

It's an Action Man Scorpion tank, made by Palitoy (England) from the early 70's to around 1980.  1:6 scale.  I've got two of them :D.  They appear on ebay at around £20 each, £100 if boxed.

Wow - that takes me back!

I wonder if I still have that knocking about anywhere... I have a feeling that one of the hatches broke off.

If I remember rightly, there was a shovel moulded onto the back. I was always a little disappointed that it wasn't made so you could detach it. :)

Is there an equivalent tank toy in the US G. I. Joe line?

No, this was based on a modern British tank and sold in the UK.  France, Spain and Germany made a variation of it under the Action Joe and Geyperman trade names.  There are some differences, so the only one that's the same as the prop/toy used in Robot, is the Palitoy version sold in the UK.
