I hope to have a link to something really cool in the next 24hours (if it finishes rendering). Well I think its cool.. :)

I try to avoid to posting "I like this" comments, because it just takes up space and can sound patronising at times, but, goodness me, this is something else. I'm sure we'd all like to see this baby realised on screen. All the elements are there, it's stunning, just stunning.
Damn this myopia (Lazy eye) 3D doesn't work for me, never has, never mind.

This is a frame from a 1440 frame animation I did doing a 360 around my console.

It's animated? :(
Doesn't work for me.

The scanner screen does but this doesn't.

Type 83, you missed the key word.  It's a "frame" from an animation.

I've been able to "freeview" since I was about 10, so I'd love a couple of 2D side-by-side images!

If you go to Robs most excellent homepage here
http://www.interocitor-media.com/tardis/index.php

then click on the TARDIS 2003 link and you can see the animated clip their and also Robs early ideas for this console room, which personally blew me away at the time and left me really disappointed that the BBC didn't use his ideas when the show cam back 3 years later.....

I'm not sure how well you can see in the render but the KKT and locator are on the shelf in the 'seating alcove'. Top right shelf beside the magnetic clamp.

Anyone care to guess the items on the shelves? They all come from various Doctor Who stoies.

Farewell Sarah Jane, you will be missed.

That is awesome! :) Shame my laptop has turned into a piece of crap these days (the I/O controller doesn't work, the mouse left click is crappy, and I cannot plug in a USB mouse cos the I/O controller doesn't work...) But I got to have a look around and its awesome :D

Now, what would really rock is a map of this for some first person POV game ;)

Funny but you can see some of the ideas in this for the NST console room hence the Metal grate floor, Bars around the console area, 3D walls..
One has to wonder if the designers at the beeb didnt take some direction from individuals such as Rob?  And if so why the HELL didnt they go this direction??  BRILLIANT Console. If I ever were tempted to make a console, this would be the one I would make! And if I ever had my Dream TARDIS, this would be the one I would Own.

Well done Rob, and keep up the excellent work on the DVDs too. Today 2/entertain, tomorrow, hopefully the BBC! if they have any sense!!
