Rob, Love the design,  I hope you don't mind I am borrowing a some insipiration off of your 2002 console for one of my panels.  I am sure you can see which one if you look at my build thread karsten's Console.

The Miscellaneous Panel yeah?

I use Lightwave for my rendering. Then I do some tricks in photoshop to give it a more real photo look.

I also use photoshop to make it 3D. I render 2 images a left and a right one. I make the difference between them about 10 cm. I load the two images into photoshop and have it show just the red channel of the left image. I select it all and copy. I then go to the right image and have it show just the red channel for that. Then I paste and replace the channel. TADA.. 3D image with colour. If you want to make it more B&W. Then copy the green channel of the right image and replace the blue channel of the right image with it and it gets rid of the colour. But it doesn't really effect the 3D effect.

Ok. Here's an update with the Smith style floor for the lower portion of the floor.

I really like that Rob! It gives a nice feeling of the "engine" (if indeed thats what it is) being in another room and we're just getting a glimpse of it. :)
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Great work with nice touches and a brilliantly atmospheric! :)

Fabulous.!! the clear floor does give it a lighter feel, i've always liked Lightwave rather than the overpriced 3ds Max, now i use Blender which has so many great tools...better still it's free.

Great work, wish i could model this well :(

Great, brightening up the under rotor works well!

Anyone else noticed the robot's head from Robot?

Farewell Sarah Jane, you will be missed.

Yes! And a Dalek gun above the library door, Hartnell's chair and McGann's Dr's bag.
Cool touches :)
What else is there...?

Brilliant!!!!!  :o ;D ;D

Looks exactly like I thought it would, fantastic.   I also like that you have given the doors in the background a soft glow as if we can see light spilling through from other rooms.  I am interested in seeing further results.

That 11th style floor makes a HUGE difference, looks fantastic, brilliant even!
Though I'd still like to see a time rotor that goes to the ceiling ;)

so this is all done in light wave? which version if I might ask and how would one go about getting the object files if they are old enough I could use my antiquated 5.6 to open them (I have CNC equipment and could take the exported DXF files to make a model :D
Sincerely, and most appreciatively,

I am using Lightwave 9.6 with the FPrime render plugin. I am also testing LW 10 and its new VPR render engine. So far that has a way to go before its released.

I won't be doing a 'To the ceiling' column because simply I don't like them. They have been too boring on the inside to spark my imagination. The only one that I liked was the McGann one. I prefer the classic style that you can get general info about the flight by looking at it like the Hartnell style.

This is a frame from a 1440 frame animation I did doing a 360 around my console.
