Oh by the Lords of Kobol I love that! :D
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

For me, the best thing about these drawings are (1) They feature the st John's badge, which was obviously dropped after possibly being brought back and (2) it proves my theory that the Newbery box NEVER had a back wall. Love the corner post detail, too.

Also Good to see it states 'Prussian Blue' as the official colour to paint it..

And YES yet another post to make me have a little over geeky moment...lol.... I just LOVE floor plans and blue prints and design drawings.....I cant help it...I really cant!! ::)

I think the argument raged on for quite a while - I was convinced this prop had no back - in Horns of Nimon you clearly see the through gaps in the back curtain. In production photos from Horror of Fang Rock, you see the back of the box clearly isn't there at all and then there's the 'outside television centre' press shots for season 16 with Mary Tamm where you can see tv centre itself through the doors behind Tom and Mary! (Well, it is bigger on the inside!) I find it interesting that Barry went to the trouble of detailing the beading etc on the corner posts, but the final prop never had it - the corner posts were very simple. You can also see that the door panels are much taller as in the final prop, and the base is very wide with no chamfered edge, just like the real thing. The drawing also shows handles, when the finished prop had none and that the telephone panel is hinged on the right, with the handle on the left, like the Brackaki was for a short time during the Pertwee years, and also the 96 movie box. Also, unlike any of the other props, only the right hand door was actually a door, like a real police box. I hadn't realised until I saw this - all the other props had both doors open, but we NEVER saw both doors open on the Newbery (Black Orchid doesn't count ;))

Wow - absolutely wonderful to finally see these Newbery plans. But, argh - can't read most of the measurements. Still, many thanks.

Somewhere on the lower right of the studio Floor-plan it should read

SCALE 1:50 METRIC
STUDIO PLAN
TC 1

PRODUCTION
DR WHO- THE KINGS DEMONS*
(SERIAL 6J)

*Or it may read as, The Android, The Demons, A Knight's Tale or Demons Keeper, as these were all working titles for the serial :)

Thanks very much for the info. Most useful :)
