Plymouth Who Productions - The Other Side

Hi All..

After about 18 months away I'm back a couple of people asked about our Fan film in my Police box refurb and Console build threads so I thought I'd put a shameless plug and some links in.

The Other Side is a 45 minute Fan Film by a fan group in Plymouth, UK, the premise of the story is simple Doctor WHo meets Most Haunted, its is interesting to note that RTD in his book "The Writers Tale" alludes to a similar idea... we were already in post production by then but it shows were were on track...

The project has been on line for about 8 months now and we've had well over 2000 hits (when the various site hits are added).

Some links below if you wanted to take a look. The Tardis interior shots were not as extensive as originally planned as the glass console reflected the green chromakey cloth so we had to make do with the three 8'x4' wall panels.

Our second film completes filming in a couple of weeks and includes some more extensive Console room sceens, as well as the police box prop.

I generally have no interest in fan films but I do like your Console   I wish the real series embraced something technical like that. Also I love your TARDIS. Makes me wonder if while you are filming in locations with that Blue Box what kind of local interest you stir up LOL. I mean a blue box in a field and a camera crew probably generates some buzz.

Thank you for your kind words... (I wish the current TV series had something better too).

A fun story whilst we were filming last september, we were shooting on Dartmoor, the chosen location being no more than 10 metres from a secluded road, so traffic was pretty scarce.

The Police box was assembled, and and the first vehicle in over an hour drove past, screeched to a halt, reversed and after a few moments reversed, a father and his two youngsters came over, the kids wanting photographs... whether they were expecting Matt Smith or not is anyones guess, but the kids had a photo they could impress their friends with at school on the Monday

I watched the trailer and it looks interesting, ill download and watch the whole thing tonight.

Ive never seen a console design like that, has potential! Im not a fan of the new style consoles, too many junk bits everywhere, just looks a mess to me.
