I am told that today was the last of the good weather for a while, so I done as much as I could.
I have been finishing off the 2 doors that open and decided not to have a phone in the "Pull to open" sign.
I done another side but it needs lots of work doing to it.
The timber yard still don't know when they will get the rest of my wood in but no panic just yet.
So far I am having a whale of a time apart from a small screwdriver ( non sonic ) through my thumb accident :'(
But who needs thumbs when you have a Tardis  ;D
While I am moaning I just have to say that though a Router is and amazing tool it does not give the edge I need and am left with round parts I have to chisel out.

It's not hard but doing it 128 times is starting to P me off >:(
But I'm almost done ;D

Well today has gone swimmingly. After a trip to A&E ( ER ) for the ( non sonic )
screwdriver through the thumb incident, I cracked on with my build.  :)
Not easy after a Doctor ( not THE Doctor ) bandaged my thumb and gave me a shot.
I am working on the last side panel and then it's the top and floor left to do.
More pictures to follow

You may have noticed that 2 of the windows have not been cut out.
This is due to the fact that it's a side that I wont see, and also so I can put a shelf up and use it as a garden shed.
Apparently I can't build a Tardis and put it in the garden if it has no use!
I would say it is cool so that is it's use, but not everyone looks at it the same way we all do  ;D

OUCH!

Nice build, she is looking good!

Cant put into the Garden without a purpose? Is that a local ordinance or a home issue?

A family issue  ;D
My brothers lad who loves the good Doctor, can see out way of thinking.
I had to make his bedroom door like the Tardis

Great to see this build bounding along, even if you do have to screwdriver yourself in the process.  What is it they say about blood, sweat and tears being in every labour of love that you undertake?

Anyway, you're fast approaching having a complete box ready for paint and all the finishing touches!

Well  it's not bad going for a few days work.
I have done all 4 door sides ( one still needs sanding, but thats a easy job.
Weather permitting, I will have a go at doing the top tomorrow.

revsteve,

Wow, that is really looking like a NST.
Great work mate!
I am excited to see her assembled with a coat of 'TARDIS blue' paint.
Oh what a feeling...
she will look great in your garden.

cheers,
Jon~

DISCLAIMER: Caution, TARDIS building can be hazardous to one health...Owning a completely built TARDIS by ones on hands can be therapeutic as well.  It's a double edge sword, no pun intended.

Thanks Jon,
It's so frustrating that the weather has been so poor.
I can't get any work done and it's driving me mad, and for some reason the rest of the house have forbidden me building inside the house.
I am happy with the roof, and though it still needs a bit more work I think it will look cool when it's done.
I only hope it all fits together OK.
The TV says tomorrow will be overcast but clear so will see what I can do, but the rest of the week is shocking.

I think on the real props, they left the rounded edges on the panels and didn't square them off like you did.  Good on you for taking the extra effort to get it right.

Hi Steven

Wow! This has to set a record for the fastest NST build in history! Anyway, it's looking really clean and excellent - bad luck with the thumb accident. All three walls of my Tardis fell on top of me last year - I'd had some electricians in to rewire the garage and they moved them from 'safely leaning up' to 'deathtrap' without telling me! Ouch  ::)

Keep up the good work!

cheers
Chris

There was a slight break in the bad weather and I managed to do the floor.
I am not 100% happy but it's the best I can do with the tools I have.
I would have liked a bigger angle on the edge but my router does not have the bit I would need so it will have to do I'm afraid.
But other than that, it's OK.

I could not resist.
She still needs lots of work but the big kid in me said "Do it do it do it"

If you have a hand held or table saw, you can angle to the blade to 45ยบ, and run it along the edge to create the champfer.
