I know it does not officially fit the 'look' of any of the consoles but, I found this site and their 'LED non touch panels' kind of cool... (although expensive).  Check out their video example.

Imagine just hand waving over a panel and having the time rotor kick in.. or off.

They look pretty cool!
An interesting alternative to plasma discharge devices. Or possibly in addition to them.

Hey you two stop making work for me !! LoL ,imagine soldering 80 leds and their component parts into a circuit board ,my eyes would be popping out of their sockets by the end of it  , I`m going to have to order one aren`t I LoL heres one of the new meters that iam adding to the T55 console

perhaps slightly smaller...



obviously it would have to be cylindrical instead of cuboid.
