Ok guys and gals I have had the hardest time for paint staying on my tardis no matter what primer I used or what paint be it latex, oil based, or interior or exterior. So right now I am in the process of trying to strip the paint off so that I can apply a stain instead so far I have tried sanding, chemicals, and wire brush attached to a drill. So far I have had zero luck with any of these techniques keeping in mind of course there are about different layers of paint on the box itself any and all help or suggestions are highly appreciated!!

Paint stripper gun?

It's like an industrial strength hair drier with a scraper attachment....
Of course if you are staining you'll probably have to then sand it back too as it can scorch the wood

Thanks a ton I'll start the hunt for one of those hopefully I can find one locally. I did have a bit of luck this evening with pouring 91% alcohol on it and lighting it but that just makes me cringe so hopefully the mega hair dryer will work.

Milwaukee Heat Gun

First one I found when looking at the local despot

EDIT: Fixed the link for you. Just don't use it like a hair dryer when you get it ;)
