wireframe
You cannot see attachments on this board.
this is a wireframe of the CAD model i made of the paneling and some of the
controls.

white model
You cannot see attachments on this board.
a colourless version of the CAD model

A
You cannot see attachments on this board.
nice view of some of the controls and bits i rendered just to have something
on the CAD 3D model.
Dave 02/03/2004

B
You cannot see attachments on this board.
everything here was rendered with CAD Turbo Designer, meant to be a user-
friendly version of CAD. it was quite fun putting this together.
Dave 02/03/2004

C
You cannot see attachments on this board.
these images have been optimized for upload, and have been degraded a bit i'm
afraid, but it's they're still pretty neat!
Dave 02/03/2004

D
You cannot see attachments on this board.
you would not believe how hard it its to make little buttons and glowing
lights and toggle switches! omg!
Dave 02/03/2004

E
You cannot see attachments on this board.
i was so happy when this finally took shape that i cried. it was amazing to
see my design from any angle, to rotate it and examine it as if it were real.
hopefully it will be someday.
Dave 02/03/2004

F
You cannot see attachments on this board.
the controls will vary a bit in the finished model. i just slapped these
layouts together quickly to have *something* on the console panels. still
very happy with the way it turned out.
Dave 02/03/2004

G
You cannot see attachments on this board.
i started out just wanting to model the frame, and then i thought how neat it
might be to model the paneling on top of that. so i did. :)
Dave 02/03/2004

A1
You cannot see attachments on this board.
oldest shematic, save for one i drew when i was 13, but that's been lost for
ages.
Dave 02/03/2004

A2
You cannot see attachments on this board.
how i ever got on with graph paper and pencil i'll never figure out. thank
goodness for CAD!
Dave 02/03/2004

A3
You cannot see attachments on this board.
starting to work out what i wanted to do with the plinth.
Dave 02/03/2004

TCP_Conceptual_A_fullsize
You cannot see attachments on this board.
finally dawned on me what i could do with the column, making it dome-shaped
instead of cylindrical. this is my first real attempt at producing a proper
conceptual drawing.
Dave 02/03/2004

TCP_Conceptual_B_fullsize
You cannot see attachments on this board.
finalized the look of the column internal workings, and experimented with
several small detail changes.
Dave 02/03/2004

TCP_Conceptual_C_fullsize
You cannot see attachments on this board.
figured out that i wanted a more organic feel to things, and i altered the
shape, making it wider and more elegant, while also drasticly altering the
plinth shape and form.
Dave 02/03/2004

TCP_Conceptual_D_fullsize
You cannot see attachments on this board.
concept for easy-access functionality. the panels would raise by motor.
drawers built into the underside of the console are also shown.
Dave 02/03/2004

TCP-B2
You cannot see attachments on this board.
all these are finalized schematics for the frame.

wireframe_rotate
You cannot see attachments on this board.
nifty animated gif of the CAD wireframe model rotating. made this for the now
vaporized website. it looks much better on black, i promise!
Dave 02/03/2004

exterior with doors closed
You cannot see attachments on this board.
this is what i envision as the exterior of my own TARDIS, placed infront of
the doorway into the console room.
Dave 17/04/2005

door open
You cannot see attachments on this board.
here's a terribly done alteration of another picture to illustrate the idea
of placing the wardrobe in front of the console room doors with an open back,
so one could just open the wardrob, step on in, and straight through into the
console room.
