When we had a new porch built I saved the old inner front doors (the outer doors were beyond saving).  I had no idea what I'd do with them but can't throw away anything that may be even vaguely useful at some point.

Two actual doors, two static leaves.  One door I turned into the front of shoe storage that went into the new porch.  The other door and static leaves I thought I'd turn into a TARDISh.  ~ish because it's at best half a TARDIS.  And the number of panes is wrong.  And the size is wrong.  But who cares?

I spent $ages heating the ancient putty and knocking out the glass.  Then scraping off the old varnish, sanding, filling the more egregious holes and figuring out how to make it stand up on its own.  The rear is part of an old wardrobe.

And with the front:

I'm planning to put it in my lair (named by my kids) to hold CDs / DVDs.  So behind each pane will be a drawer with push-to-open latches:

Lashed up light & sound circuit.  Need to test whether the single white LED will be bright enough ... I suspect not but it'll be in a dark room so #crossfingers.  If it's not I'll need to figure out how to create a dimmer circuit :P

The speaker is in a temporary mount; I'm thinking I'll mount it in the roof when I do it for real.  And there'll be two of them (already wired up, the second one isn't mounted and that makes a massive difference to the sound quality.

Light & sound circuit sort of in situ.  Might work with some form of diffuser.  Or mirror.  Or pointing in a different direction.  Or something...
