Met box Sketchup to 1/5 model

My girlfriend Anita was originally going to build this miniature but since we've found out she's pregnant I'm working on it instead.
We started with various plans and dims which Anita used to create the original sketchup;



These dims were used to make Autocad plans so that we could cut all the pieces on a CNC machine and at this stage we used sketchup to build the various sections, we worked out the size of the pieces in proportion to the thicknesses of styrene;




At this stage I have most of the pieces put together and ready for moulding.






We've already seen what the finished result will be as this will be the living embodiment of the original sketchup.

I'm really looking forward to making the Fresnel and the pebbled glass!

That is completely amazing. First time I've seen CNC used to make a police box model.
