I wanted to build a working Telephone for a Tardis.
The requirement were,
1. It had to work with the old fashioned rotary dial.
2. Be battery powered.
3. Work on a mobile network.
4. Ring the old bells.
5. Be portable, so that it could sit in a Tardis in the Garden or at a convention or show.
My original idea was to us an Arduino and a SIM module.
Because my programming skills are next to none, I had to rely on using other people ideas and programs.
The first was at this website:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldFT2dZi_Bc
This idea worked fairly well, but I had issues getting the SIM module to start every time, but it did work.
The second idea was from this website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilgX4YjSRtA
This chap had some good ideas, but I did not follow them.
The third website: https://hackaday.io/project/173968-arduino-mobile-dial-phone
This was the most successful, and I had it up and running, but ran into a snag, the sim module kept turning off early and I lost contact, everything worked and i had sound and voice.

I saw something else on the internet and had a brainwave.
I used a commercial mobile phone and came up with this.

Using an old wooden phone, I removed the parts that were not of any use, and installed the donor parts.
I will also try and take a video of it working.
Once I am happy that it works as intended, I will begin to do a more in depth build diary.
Hope you like what you see.
