August 1940

Don't believe I have seen this before. No useful info in the article which is about the home guard training dogs. Doesn't say where just that it is a village.

I googled the name of the guy in the article and it brought up a film on the British Pathe website called Good Dog with more images of the box. The lamp is not covered in the film.

The IWM also hold 19 photos of him training his dog (presumably the same ones in the article) sadly they are not available to view online.

Hi, I've managed to identify this as Police Box T21 in Upper Halliford village. Despite not much to go on, the white building in the background adjoined the old Goat PH. I cross referenced with an site plan and it all seems to fit. See attached. Unfortunately, this location has changed beyond recognition and Google maps is of no assistance. As an aside, British Pate News often operated from Shepperton Studios which is just up the road from Upper Halliford
