So I bought an 18inch dalek in 2019 and kept the box, I recently got it back out and removed the card insert which leaves me with a thin plastic cylinder tube that I can use for a chunk of the time rotor, it's not tall enough really but it's good for now, building starts soon and I'll show you how this goes:)B1C44398-917F-4859-B1BD-B2A947428367.jpeg

So I already own some parts that I've picked up in the last couple of months, 4 wheel spacers(2 present),1 table leg mount,2 storm keypads,1 orange/amber paperweight,1 Bakelite rotary switch,2 square based tea light holders,2 clear castor cups,1 blue polycarbonate box(I need to get another),3 LED touch lights(1presesnt), hopefully I'll get more soon but that's all cleared my money for a little while XDBB6FA8FA-D2CD-4F75-A0AC-421A03176850.jpeg

I tend to prefer the classic consoles but I love watching these builds with all the funny little bits and bobs. Good luck with it.

So I've cut up some cardboard as a rough idea of the placement and panel size and for fun I put some parts on just to see how it would look, im still happy with it, forgot how hard cutting cardboard is XD2308E47E-DA12-4AC1-97D3-0FC100BBAC03.jpeg39CCB6FE-B6AF-4605-BB89-554019EBFE9F.jpeg

That table is just right isn't it... I don't know if you've thought about the coral effect yet but I've used course sand/fine gravel mixed with PVA glue to good effect on props and models. I think the sand I use is for reptile enclosures, I've had the same bag for years and still haven't tun out and it wasn't expensive either - got it on ebay.

Just be careful if Dream/Morpheus shows up, wanting it back. ;)

Lovely stuff! I'll cut the lettering out of vinyl for you if you want? Cleaner and easier than trying to paint it on by hand.
Drop me  a PM and I'll sort it out!

So I've got all the placeholder things and now I'm about ready to make the ribs for the top section, as I'm using cardboard I'm gonna need some structure underneath to hold them up, I'm thinking just using random scrap I have around the house though I'm not too sure yet...

I'm glad you think so. I've never done it on anything of this scale so I'd test it on something else first. That would give you the chance to experiment with the painting too.
