Update, both tardis are on the same levels of compilation more or less. I've chose wich will be wich. The first one i've made (C1) will be the original tardis C and the 2nd one i'm currently making (C2) will be the war doctor.

I've worked on a new système for getting thé lamp off and servicing it or to help flatt packing the tardis, it's working well so far. IMG_20220714_065424_982.jpgIMG_20220714_065423_891.jpgIMG_20220714_065422_779.jpg

I've also started grinding away thé wood to make the nervings more screen acurate IMG_20220714_065430_495.jpgIMG_20220714_065428_060.jpgIMG_20220714_065426_902.jpg

And yeah, outside of a stuff i need to take care of, like the mounting of the C2's doors and a few other stuff, next step is paint ! And windows. It might take a while tho, i'm la king free time.

Paint update.
I've carved the wood grain and bumps. I'm beyond happy with those. Also the doors were à bit of a challenges. those tiny apparent hinges(4x0.8mm) being hand made, as usual, and fonctionnal. I've tried har to be screen acurate. Again a big thanks to @The_TARD1Sman for giving me refrence and confirming my knowlege. Your help is precious !
IMG_20220720_022546_447.jpgIMG_20220720_022543_223.jpg(yes thé doors opens like this. Yes this is cursed and also to my knowlege thé only tardis on the show with outwards opening doors)
IMG_20220720_022540_892.jpgIMG_20220720_022539_177.jpg you can look it up, this notch and the other you can see on my model exist on the original) IMG_20220720_022538_418.jpgIMG_20220720_022536_316.jpgIMG_20220720_022534_456.jpgIMG_20220720_022530_089.jpgIMG_20220720_022523_572.jpgIMG_20220720_022520_004.jpg

It's not fully finalistes yet, but it's close.
Here is a bit of making ofIMG_20220720_022511_907.jpgIMG_20220720_022512_790.jpgIMG_20220720_022514_824.jpgIMG_20220720_022516_206.jpgIMG_20220720_022518_126.jpg

Update. Nothing much to say, i'm painting still. Paint job is finished on the war doctor and i'm following thé refrence pictures i've found or have been given.

I've also machined a fresnel. I'll have to pour an other batch of résine for the other lamp.

They are looking great! That Fresnel is superb! Will you install an LED to light it up?

Yop, i've just laid hands on some warm white LED, i'll tackle that soon.

I'll also had a interior back drop

Oh that's excellent, I cannot wait to see the finished boxes. I really like the weathering you have done on the War Doctors one. I always did prefer a weathered and beaten up looking Police Box!

I'm just tickled that you actually carved the grain.  Because if someone asked me I'd say "you can't carve realistic looking wood grain."  Just skimming the photos I thought "oh, he did the blowtorch thing on a model and it turned out really well."  But the reality is you probably can't do the blowtorch thing to bring out grain on a model.  So I'm reading and going "did he really say he *carved* the grain?"  And then I see the sketching with the ballpoint pen and go "yep.  He carved it."  Turned out amazing.
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

Thanks à lot, i'm glade you like it^^
Blow torching sadly wouldn't work with such à small scale.
I've been (and kinda still) tinkering with technics to pull this of. Mostly what helps in how it look, is that i've been following refrence photos of the box. The second one is trying to anticipate thé paint absorbtion by the wood and choose the grain well. I'll try in the future to try to remake à D box but with the wood grain apearant. I cant use the same technic, or at least i have to make more than that, but i have ideas of using some filers ore résines to simulat grain density. I guess we'll see

In the mean time, i have an update comming out soon.

Absolutely superb! The first three pictures with the box outside in the dark are ACE! It really looks like the old Doctor has landed somewhere at war.

I'm always impressed how much your models end up looking full size once you've lit and photographed them outside.
A mixed-up non-conformist, trying to fit in.
